Registered Post International

Hi. I am in Queensland, Australia and am quite concerned that the Registered Post I send from Queensland to Birmingham on 18th August has gone "missing". I have tracked the item from Australia. Tracking Number RR157756452AU. It has gone around the UK and now ended up in Mount Pleasant EC2DO.
The Tracking says the Item is Delivered Mount Pleasant EC2 DO and signed for by "Michael" on 3 September. The signature is a totally unreadable scribble and it seems "Michael" does not have a surname.
How can the Royal Mail postal service say the parcel is delivered when it is not delivered to the address on the front?
Also, how can "Michael" sign for something that is not addressed to him?
I am at a loss.
The package was a letter to NatWest Bank in Birmingham and relates to the death of my English partner. Things have been distressing enough without this added stress.
I have tried to attach a copy of the Royal Mail Tracking. I am not sure if it has worked.
Can someone please advise what I can do, or who I can contact to have this issue resolved. I would greatly appreciate any/all help. Thanks, Penny

I have just rechecked the Royal Mail Tracking and there is nothing about a "Redelivery". Yes, NatWest head office is EC2 - EC2 M4AA Spitalfields. Nothing to do with Mount Pleasant EC2 DO where the letter was delivered and signed for.

Firms that receive massive amounts of mail each day will sometimes get a direct delivery from the local MC

Hi Space Phoenix. Sorry, but I really have no idea what you are talking about. My letter was addressed to NatWest Birmingham - according to Royal Mail Tracking it has been delivered and signed for at Mount Pleasant (London) EC2DO

They might have redirections in place to redirect any mail for any Natwest branch or offices to their Head Office in London

The tracking you posted on here quite clearly says September 2nd 0836 redirection in place . DO stands for Delivery Office.

Spot on - It made it to Birmingham MC and they rerouted it.
08:36
Redirection in place - item forwarded Birmingham Central DO

Penny, My best advice is to contact the Bank Branch or their HQ directly. Although we are not an official site, it does look like Royal Mail followed the banks instructions.

Due to Covid measures, recipients are not being asked to sign for items themselves. Instead the Postie will enter XP1. That's what it looks like to me, albeit a little incomplete.
Also, Michael can be a surname too....George Michael the late singer-songwriter?
