Hi all, hoping someone can maybe provide some positive news (though, from what I gather it seems unlikely).
I posted out an item on 23rd July from Bristol to Sweden via Intentional tracked and signed. However, upon arriving home I realised I only had the payment receipt in my pocket. I suspect the receipt with tracking had fallen out. For what its worth I've been posting out items for 10+ years and I've never once lost a receipt. I usually hold onto receipts for at least a couple months even after delivery. So literally the worst luck that the item I lose the receipt for is a high value item that seems to have gone missing.
Coming up to 4 weeks now and the store has not received the parcel. I've been in touch with Royal Mail customer services and they said they can't help and I won't be able to make a claim with the payment receipt. I've been to the Post Office and the manager insisted he's unable to find tracking numbers even with my existing receipt (despite reading someone on here did manage to get their tracking number).
Is there really no digital trail on the system using the date/time of issue and session ID?
Is it possibly still in transit to Sweden and just delayed?
Or is it game over and I've just lost £250?
Any help would be appreciated.

As per my answer in the thread you linked to, there is no digital trail. In theory it might be possible to find the number in the paper record, but this is very hit and miss, and the bigger the branch is the less likely it will work.

There is a chance it's been delayed some countries are worse than others - we have some reports from the USA that items sent last year are just turning up. I don't think Sweden is that bad but Customs apparently are still suffering delays because of Brexit and Covid.

Thanks for the replies. Just an update, the parcel has finally arrived back to the retailer
I'd almost given up hope.
