Still at post office
I wouldn’t usually bother with this sort of thing but given my passport was in the package I’m a little worried. I sent my passport along with other documents to the passport office in Liverpool first class signed for but the tracking just says accepted at post office. I’ve been down there and there’s nothing they can do their end which I expected, they’re not wizards after all. Is it normal for something to show as that for almost a week? (Sent last Wednesday at 11am). I know there’s a backlog and if this is normal then fine and dandy, I can wait, I’m not really sure what to do if the passport gets lost in transit. Thanks in advance.

Re: Still at post office
Signed for isn't a tracked service. So in theory, you get two records of where it has been: when it has been accepted into the system, and one when it has been signed for at the other end. Occasionally you get others, mainly to do with difficulties delivering the item.
The problem is the RM often don't collect signatures at very high volume recipients, such as the passport office.

Re: Still at post office
So do I still have a chance of the item arriving? It’s been a while since I’ve sent anything, probably before the pandemic so I guess I’m not privy to the extent of delays. It does say 10 working days before claiming so there’s still time I guess. Just panicking due to the sensitive documents enclosed. Next time I think I’ll get a more detailed option… would they not confirm delivery even if it’s just signed for?

It probably arrived at the passport office days ago.
