i am from Maldives and i have ordered a product worth 75 US dollars, which is a large amount in my country.

The item was shipped in July and it still have not arrived. it was send via International Signed and said it was handed to overseas delivery office. Today when i checked the status it showed me this message.

A delivery was attempted for your item with reference RR788476391GB in NATIONAL RETURN CENTRE before 10:48 on 12/09/16.

If the addressee does not collect it or make an arrangement to have it redelivered, it will be returned to the sender in the UK.

what does it mean.

the product i ordered is not a prohibited item in my country.

What's the contents? Maybe something in there isn't allowed to go by air

If it was previously handed to the overseas delivery service, but turns up at the National Return Centre 5-8 weeks later, then I would suggest that the Maldives postal service returned it as undeliverable (incorrect address, etc) and that the parcel does not have a return address on it. The sender needs to submit a P58international form to make sure that they get the parcel back. Once returned, the parcel should have a little red sticker stating why it was returned by the Maldives.

I expect the attempted delivery bit is someone hitting the wrong button.

Also unfortunately every tracking site, including Maldives Post which returned a 404 error, only shows the details above. I think Snaggletooth has it spot on, it seems to have been returned by Maldives Post for some reason.
