Hi,
My name is Alexis Damianidis and I am from Greece
I have sent a lot of parcels to UK from Greece.Their weight is mostly one kilo and they are packaged in big envelops
I have many examples of my shipments stuck in HEATHROW airport and not being delivered to my customers.
I have to make a statement each time from the Greek post office so as to find my parcels.
This means a lot of delay and frustration of my customers.
Does anyone knows the reason of this happening?
I am not from USA or other third country so as to wait customs clearance.
The funny thing is that is needs two days to get to UK from Greece and then it gets stucked in HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
Thanks for your time,
Alexis Damianidis

Everything has to be cleared by customs, even if it is coming from an EU country. There are currently big delays at UK customs, with many items spending 2-4 weeks there.

Thank you for the fast reply.
May I ask if this is something that occured with the Brexit or it was always this way?
Because I have these issues a long time now.
This will be fixed you think?Because this is a big problem at least for me...

Brexit hasn't happened yet. The problem with customs goes back just over a year. Lots of countries seemed to have the same problem starting at about the same time, so I guess that International Air Transport Association laws were tightened up but a lot of countries failed to fund extra staff in their customs operations. No sign of it getting better in the UK. It does seem to get a bit worse in August (probably because more staff are on holiday) and in the Christmas rush.

Please can any one tell me why it takes so long if items go through Heathrow when I can order stuff from china and it can be here in a few weeks but take a lot longer. I have items that arrived in Heathrow on the 23/8/16 and they are still there and do not seem to move.

If you check out the multiple threads on this the answer is always the same. In your case its no different.
