parcel from Germany

Post by fionat »

Hi
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. A customer is returning a parcel via GLS in Germany. She posted it 4 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. She didn't send it tracked and I think she paid the minimum amount so I am now presuming surface mail. Does anyone know how long that should take? Is Royal Mail the likely courier partner in UK (parcel supposed to be coming to Glasgow). I have heard rumours (Amazon forum) of a severe hold up in Paris due to strike action - would that be a possible route for this parcel?
Cheers

GLS is actually a subsidiary of Royal Mail so they should be delivering it. The reverse journey UK - Germany should take 2 weeks - so I would expect the same for GLS - if so its overdue - might be worth contacting the sender and confirming the address and date they sent it.

Any concerns in Paris or even france shouldn't affect it as the European Hub is in Germany.

Unfortunately she didn't use a tracked service so I don't have a tracking number. I think it's either lost or heading on its way back to Germany (or she never sent it in the first place!) I realise I was clutching at straws re France.
Thanks for your help
