This post just sums up all that is wrong with the media and the globalists attitude today.

He thinks that because other people put up with poor money purchase pension schemes and minimum wage jobs that we should too.

Every time a group of workers asserts itself the usual suspects come on the media and say "those dinosaurs are at it again they should move into the 21st century".

Do not fall for the globalists line as they are the same people who sold us dot.com shares telling us about the technological revolution and that it's different this time we're in the 21st century and that it's a new paradigm, only then we woke up and realised it was a lie only after they stole all our savings.

And if we believe what they say we will lose all our rights pensions and just about anything that makes a job just a bit of an improvement over slavery and then they will still not be satisfied and want more.

As another poster pointed out there is no reason why every industry cannot afford to provide a final salary pension scheme,as corporate profits are at a record and the economy can clearly support it,not that you would think that by listening to the media.

I am afraid that you are wrong here. Every industry can not afford to provide the pension you describe - take a look at the GM and Ford accounts in the US and you will see that they are on the verge of bankrupcy due to their pension provisions. We are all living longer on average and this has a dramatic impact on the cost of pensions

Royal mail is not losing any serious amount of money and it's share of the delivery market has increased to over 98% in the last year, yes there is NO competition and the myth that has been rammed down our throats for the last 5 years is finally being uncovered for what it is and the backlash has begun.

It is great that RM has the lion share of the market - but much of it is being done for silly margins - yes the fault of the management but if the service does not make money it is no there to share out.

Why are we striking they ask?

I know now - a lot of the proposals are ludicrous - as is your union target of a £25K wage

Fortunately for us we are in a position do do it,as other industries would like to do the same but can't,but we can so we do simple.

We do not need the approval of people like moan so if you don't like it then take your business elsewhere!!!

Oh! I forgot you can't because we are the only one's who deliver so get used to it.

Yes - no competition or reduction in business to RM at all over recent years - fax - email?

Just carry on with no worries and demand, demand and demand

They still come up with rubbish about things like GM and Ford as an excuse that we should work until 95 when everyone knows GM and Ford are making cars that no one wants to buy and are losing market share hand over fist to the Japanese.

Again don't listen guys as the economy has more than enough room for workers to increase their benefits.

Wages as a percentage of corporate profits are at a record low in every Western country so we have plenty of room to move forward.

The globalists will always cry poverty and say they cannot afford this and that until we reach slavery, and then we will be made to feel guilty that they have to feed us and that we should be lucky to be fed as they can barely afford it.

I did overtime at an office a couple of xmas's ago and an arrogant screw made us work every last minute of the shift without a break and when a brave soul stood up he said"If you don't like it I've got a list hundreds long waiting for this work"which just shows the arrogance of the screws and what they and their globalist friends will try at every turn.

We fight on.

Another one that does nothing but whinge.

We would all like £100K/year for doing sfa but it is not sustainable.

If it is so easy for companies to make vast profits "at the expense of the poor worker" why don't you set up a business and share the profits.

Why is it that those of us who have contributed to a pension scheme and have those funds stolen or curtailed should accept that as being the norm. Yet those same people who administer the rules like "higher" management and MPs never seem to think that the company or our taxes cannot afford their pensions and they should take less.

I think it is getting time to man the barricades again.
