DID YOUR PARCEL EVER TURN UP?
I receive about 3 or 4 parcels from US a month and this never usually happens to me however a valuable package has been showing as departed a transfer airport for 15 days now.
Usually once I get that message my parcel is delivered the next day.

Hi yes it did eventually turn up, items packaging was completely destroyed in the USPS system, luckily the it was in a bag and the only part of the packaging remaining was the address label, so PF put it in a new box, delayed but got here.

Had another meant to be delivered on 9th Feb but was delayed by about 7 days too, I guess to be expected with covid huge demand on the postal systems and staff off ill etc.

Yes it should if your tracking it via usps I've come to learn VIA here that's how usps does it, but the info potentially is inaccurate, whose it being delivered by in the UK RM or PF? Has it been assigned a UK tracking number, if not its still in customs, there are delays due to covid with huge volumes of mail and some staff shortages etc., it might also be in a batch of items that's been flagged for further inspections but it should be cleared soonish, give it another week see if any movement on it, if not then raise a claim etc.

What method of shipping did it have tracked airmail, priority, express etc?

No tbh mine never get a "new" tracking number always track on RM site using USPS tracking number.

I've received at least 5 packages from.US since then all posted after my "missing " one too.
1 package took 6 days to get here!!!

Usually a new number if its going with PF, the data shown on RM is essentially USPS data nothing been scanned by RM imo, usps have a habit of saying things cleared customs etc when it hasn't, I find usps very annoying in that regards.

I suspect it's held in customs as part of a bigger batch that needed screening, give it this week to see if anything changes if not then sadly you probably should contact the sender.

I have a parcel which tracking says arrived at HWDC 14 days ago, in that time I've had several parcels go through there and arrive. Are there still delays happening at random or should I be concerned about my parcel?

I queried this with RM and they said I might have to claim if it is lost, but they wouldn't consider it lost yet. I won't do this because making a claim isn't going to replace it, it's worth very little, it's just quite an irreplaceable item so I am worried.

Your item is in LAX as probably no direct flights from Pheonix to the UK, which is the norm globally right now i had one go from Calgary to Montreal then UK, usually there are daily flights to the UK from Calgary but due to the pandemic and travel restrictions many of the air routes have been cancelled.

So your item will head out of LAX shortly then to the UK, keep in mind the US has been severly impacted especially Arizona and Califormia so there will be delays, due to staffing levels etc.

One of mine was a 4 to 7 working priority from Canada, took about 12 days, what with whats going on sadly delays will happen.

will i be updated when it a) leaves LAX and b) once it lands in the UK ( before customs ) ?

Yes the tracking will update once its departed LAX, usps have a funky / weird way to say its in the UK, it will say arrived in destination country, chances are yes its in the UK, however it actually hasn't entered/cleared customs yet, just keep tracking the Parcel Force or Royal Mail app/website once its showing as arrived international hub, PF RM don't consider it to be in their possession until its cleared customs.

Depending upon declared value you might get a customs charge to pay, which will need paying before delivery is made, they'll write to you to inform you on that.

yes a few items ive recieved from china say arrived in international hub, so that did make me think it was still in LAX - Thanks ever so much again, been a huge help. i read a few places USPS also scan it off the plane once its in the UK too which no other courier does?

it wad declared at between $70-85, i read anything below $135 is tax free, and had something before christmas at $80 which managed to come through with no tax - was this luck or under the value?

Having exchanged emails, it appears the parcel made it through customs over 5 days ago. For some reason, tracking shows - CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
This same message i have been reading for a month.

ParcelForce US - UK 8th Oct - 4th November, and still no sign of them putting it on a van?

DHL US - UK item was sent from the US on Monday, it is now Thursday, and will be with me today by 2pm. US - UK 4 days! that's impressive!

ParcelForce should maybe adopt DHL's system, as it appears to be super efficient.
