How much Special Delivery items are arriving late and what's going on with it.

Look, I'll answer your question truthly as I don't care if Royal mail finds out who I am.
Here's how it goes
We start in road A and you "special" is in road Y no I could deliver your special out of sequence and make it before the 1pm cut off but that will mean I'll have to drive say 4 to 5 miles away from my route and do the same to say 20 other "specials" I then have to knock wait for and answer take a picture write the clients name in the pda (when it decides it wants to work) and get the client to sign for it.
Now that doesn't seem much but now I'm not going to complete in time and I'm not going over so that means double tomorrow. Or I can do my round in sequence customer will get it when I come round be it before 1pm or after and I'll just about complete if I'm lucky. We have no time anymore for parcels etc so we don't have time to do what you would like as much as we'd like to we're not going to.
Now you may ask, but I've missed the deadline, won't I get in trouble. Well, here's the kicker I delivered it. That's all the office cares about, late, early, or on time. RM doesn't really care.
You may even complain and royal mail will say sorry I might even be called a naughty boy by my manger but guess what they won't make us do it first as they know the rounds are too large and we'll fail the walk.
