If it's stuck in customs then there isn't much you can do in practice. I would call Royal Mail to confirm that this is the case. It may also be a good idea to visit your local Royal Mail delivery office (take a passport or driving licence) just in case it's there. Beyond that, if you have a complaint about the customs service you should talk to your MP.Kristinka1992 wrote:Hi, I am waiting for my parcel over month now. Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
I too have got a parcel stuck in HWDC (Langley) and the thing I'm interested in is if anyone from this thread has actually seen their parcels arrive ???
Mine has been stuck there for 9 days and nobody is acknowledged that the parcel is with them. That includes Customs, boarder force and Royal Mail, even USPS want nothing to do with is as according to them it has arrived in the UK and is now Royal Mails issue !!!

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
I have just checked my tracking info on the Royal Mail tracking site, but it returns with "This reference number is not recognised".
So i checked on the Polish postal service tracking, as that is where it came from, only to see that it has been returned to sender, with no reason given.
Whenever i try and contact RM directly, they say because its an international package, they can only talk to the sender, not the recipient.
So pissed off at Langley now

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
It's probably stuck in customs, if it is then there will be nothing that RM can do until customs release the item to them. It's not unusual for items to be stuck in customs for over a month

There have been loads of complaints of this type, not sure that I can add anything to the previous answers, e.g. this thread:a.jaceviciute wrote:Hello, i want to ask about my package RN149635165LT, my sister sent me package from Lithuania to Great Britain and i watch trough track and it’s showing that arrived in UK IN 22/10 but still I didn’t receive my package. Re: HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
Hi I ordered some good from America and can track the parcel through to Heathrow where it goes cold. It arrived there on 26th October. Royal Mail have no records of it and I've called customs to see if it's stuck there (I haven't received a card to say I owe money) and they say they have no records of it either. Is there anybody here who could shed some light onto where it is as it's gifts for people. The tracking number is LZ837047277US.
I'm very grateful for any help I can get on this, thanks very much.

Re: HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
Its not showing on the RM website so its possible that its caught up in a backlog in Customs, by various postings on here it seems as though 3 - 4 weeks is not unusual. Once it enters RM system it should only take 2 - 3 days max.
It might be worth asking the sender to call USPS and see if they can loosen the log jam.

Re: HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
Thanks TrueBlue, the seller did contact USPS and they'd said now it's in the UK there's not a lot they can do and it was them who recommended contacting customs. I'll have to continue to be patient and hope that it gets to me soon I guess. Thanks for the help.

Re: Parcel stuck at heathrow
I have a similar problem:
USPS parcel from the US - tracking No CX179165647US handed over to ???? presumably customs at Heathrow at 11.41 on 26 Oct 15. It is now 19 Nov 15 and ParcelForce have no record of the parcel beyond Chicago (USPS logged it at Heathrow). So which organisation has the Christmas stock for my business? The parcel was from a regular supplier of mine and the same size box with the same items was sent two days previously and arrived. Plus stock sent later has also arrived.
I'm going to call HMRC tomorrow and lodge a formal complaint about both the time it is taking and the lack of transparency in the customs system.
Meanwhile, does anyone know where, physically, this parcel may be? Is it being processed by HMRC at Heathrow or has someone? taken it to Coventry by road to process it. This whole customs system seems totally and unnecessarily opaque. Why doesn't HMRC scan the items so we can at least see where they are in the system. My shop stock has been 'lost' for 3 weeks now. I don't know if I should be putting in a Police report and claiming on insurance or what? If I get no joy tomorrow from calling HMRC than I may well file a Police report for theft of my property and see where that goes.
If anyone has a phone number for the HMRC parcel depots then please post it on line.
I've had one previous parcel arrive very late - HMRC had opened it , obviously dropped and damaged the items and then resealed it with their own tape. There was no way to contact the customs clearance house or make a claim against them - I just had to take the loss.

Re: Parcel stuck at heathrow
I don't think anyone from HMRC has ever posted on here, and if they did they would probably be committing an offence under the Official Secrets Act, so I wouldn't expect too much in terms of answers or transparency. I understand that customs for Parcelforce is done at Coventry and for Royal Mail at Langley. I don't think complaining to the police is the answer, if anything HMRC are the more senior organisation: in the Post Office at least, HMRC had the right to access certain info on demand in a way that the police don't. You should complain to your MP.
Many people have asked for phone numbers for customs on here before, but we are unaware of any. You might be able to claim on your business insurance, but the sender might be able to claim from USPS already, get them to check their proof of posting etc. Parcelforce services vary in the date that you can claim, if it's Global Express or equivalent then the claim should have gone in already.
Regarding the previous parcel with broken contents, the sender should have claimed at their end for the value of the contents (note: this isn't available if sent by Global Economy).
