My parcel stuck at Heathrow
Hi I know it’s a crazy time for post but I sent a 5kg parcel from Ireland to Australia. Last scan was In heathrow on 7th December and it says Item despatched from LHR hub Item forwarded to Australia. Do you think this is now sitting in Australian customs or still waiting in LHR waiting to be loaded....my sons first Xmas away and I am desperate for him to get parcel on time

Yes its probably in customs, but as the last posting date for Australia was only a few days later (you sent it Friday - last date was the Tuesday after) it will probably be in their backlog, and at a guess, it will arrive only a few days before the holidays.

Was it sent via Royal Mail or Parcelforce? With Royal Mail only packages containing just printed papers can be over 2Kg (max weight 5Kg)

Yes, I think they use Heathrow as a Transit hub for parcels as well as passengers.SpacePhoenix wrote:Does AnPost send stuff via HWDC?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:could be AnPost as well

Interesting, I wonder if things going into Ireland have to go through just UK customs only, Irish customs only or both UK and Irish customsTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Yes, I think they use Heathrow as a Transit hub for parcels as well as passengers.SpacePhoenix wrote:Does AnPost send stuff via HWDC?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:could be AnPost as well

Get them to contact An Post and make a claim, unfortunately, Royal Mail wasn't involved so we can't provide a lot of help.Snailerz wrote:It's from an post in the republic pretty disappointed I never received it as my family put a lot of effort in.

Getting it back isn't an option, it will have to run it's course. Given that it has been over 5 weeks, most postal services will allow you to claim for loss: but you will need to ask An Post about that.
