However, that was the point of the thread, to try and help vulnerable people. Gullibility, especially in elderly people is a vulnerability.

I understand what your saying but in some cases people that got scammed shouldn't expect sympathy as they are dumb enough to believe it. For example if someone got a letter saying they won a lottery but need to send £1000 to claim it then they're dumb. There are probably more non elderly people scammed by postal scams but young and middle age people would less likely report it and the way news reporting works they focus on vulnerable people because it sells the story and people would usually feel sympathy for children and elderly people. Which is why in general when people argue political or moral issues they usually turn it round to their elderly relatives or make out that it will effect childrenTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Umm - sorry deleted your post in error -
