I have two parcel that are showing item at UK customs. They were both received at 11.42 am on Saturday 17th September. As of today 10/10/22 no movement.

I think it's another case of THEFTROW HEATHROW!!

This is not the first time. It seems that only the nice high value items never ever leave Heathrow!!

Sounds like customs didn't release them to RM. Were the contents anything that could have fallen foul of UK import rules/restrictions?

I'm having the same issue with jumpers sent to UK from China...
Tracking says cleared customs (I was charged & payment taken directly from my account which RM said shouldn't have happened - usually get a red card requesting payment to be made to clear customs) but indicated that the order is now in Heathrow International LC (RM also said they hadn't heard of that dept.)
Wondering now if the parcel is lost & /or likely to turn up at all?

That's not a RM office. What sometimes happens is that sellers import in bulk a container worth of various orders. The container goes to some warehouse, where they split the load in the container up into the individual orders, which then each enter RM's system with a UK tracking number

When you say the money was taken from your account, do you mean it was taken from your Royal Mail business account, as far as I know, that's the only way can charge you, but they inform you before they do, and for ordinary customers, they won't have any account details to withdraw the money from?

As SP says I think this is outside of Royal Mail and you may want to contact the sender. If it was an RM business account, the RM manager assigned to it should be able to help.

Hi can you tell me any way to contact customs at Heatrow.
Ordered a phone from China and it is stuck there for weeks, no one has contact me to pay duties and so on. How can customs be so unorganised

No, they don't take calls from the public, as far as we know.

Occasionally, someone has come on here and claimed to have got through to customs on the phone. But when asked to post the number they used for that, nobody ever has.

That is interesting in itself. As far as I understand it, China bans all lithium batteries in the post. So while you may have ordered it from a Chinese website, it probably hasn't been posted in China.

The last two letters of the tracking number* tell you which country it was or will be posted in. Could you tell us which country that is? Some common ones:

CN = People's Republic of China
GB = United Kingdom
NL = Netherlands etc.

*Tracking number should be in the format 2 letters then 9 numbers then 2 letters.
