The status now says “in transit’. Does this mean it’s on its way to me ? Stupid question maybe.

My parcel which did say 'In Transit' after being at Langley since 9th Jan (RC741784250SG) - Now says item recieved, and then follows up with 'item leaving overseas' singapore again. What on earth is going on - Has this parcel been sent back to singapore, and now its on the way back again ??? jesus christ
Is that tracking number correct? The Royal Mail website doesn't recognise it and the Singapore Post site says it doesn't exist

Sorry. Having a moment. RC741787250sg
Any help on this anyone. Been at Langley since 9th jan- now back in transit and I think it’s gone back to Singapore ??? No idea what’s happening. RC741787250SG

Royal Mail are saying it has been posted twice and Singapore Post are saying it is being returmed, total nightmare.

I am guessing until it says "Item has left our International Processing Centre Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre, United Kingdom" it is in no man's land and you won't get any help as Royal Mail will just say that they don't have the item so it's not there responsability.

The stupid thing is that your Postman will not know what has gone on even if and when it ever arrives.

Should we expect delays at Langley these days?

I got a parcel arrived in Langley HWDC on 25 March from Latvia and the tracking status since then has still been “The item has been received at Langley HWDC....”

It’s just getting a bit frustrating now.

I'd say 5 days is normal as is 30 days, there is nothing you can do but wait as Customs are untouchable.

A lot of Postal services have been susppended all over the World as of the 27th of March

Think of it this way its safe in Customs and when they can forward it they will

I have 14 seperate Parcels coming from Hong Kong that were all sent arournd the 20th of March and they are all still sat in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Post was suspended on the 27th of March so I am in for a long wait but they will get here in the end.

I wonder is Customs stopped working since early Mar (way before service suspension on 27th Mar), as I have a document mail sending from HK in early Mar and was received at HWDC on 16 Mar, apparently nothing has been updated since then...and no one in royal mail service can help/track the status if mail sit in HWDC.

I see many complains in this Customer page which are related to HWDC, and most of them don't really have a "Happy Ending"...so, do not have hope on "they will get here in the end".

It will get here in the end, try not to let it get to you as this is normal even if the Virus has shut everything down, I got one coming from the USA as well that is in no man's land

This one hopefully has gone straight out to Sweden

You've also got the issue of a lot less planes flying, many passenger planes would have also been used for mail transporation

That is the main cause, there are no planes flying out of Hong Kong delivering mail at all now since the 9th of March

I have a German friend that fly A330's for a living and he has been furloughed and there are no flights from Germany to Turkey were his company operates from.

I posted 4 parcels to Australia (as my trip was cancelled), all posted on 30th March from a london branch. It's now been 44 days and the tracking update just says the below:

'We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas'

3 of the parcel trackings have updated twice with the same information (above). I understand given the current global situation there are delays, less flights, certain restrictions in other countries etc etc.... but 44+ days is a bit worrying!

I have posted items using signed and tracked (expensive) to ensure they made their way safely to my family and..... nothing. I'm just a bit worried, as long as it can be confirmed that these parcels will make it to their final destination and not get 'forgotten' or 'lost' then I wont worry as much.

1 out of the 4 parcels oddly was put on a flight on 22nd of April however it's now been 21 days since and no tracking updates since the below and the parcel has not yet been delivered!?!?!

'Your item has left the UK and is now on its way to the destination country.'

if anyone has any contact for me so I can ensure these parcels make their way onwards i'd be forever grateful!

Thanks

In terms of contacts, it would be the usual Royal Mail customer helpline, webform, Twitter etc.

Some parcels leaving the country and others not could be down to random chance and the shortage of flights. However, Langley is also where RM do a check for items that aren't allowed by the destination country's customs. Australia has a particularly long and complicated set of rules. What did you send?

Australia has dozens of restrictions on clothing and the materials that clothes are made from. Check the Australia page on the RM website.

It might be that your parcels have gone for extra checks before despatch, but will be found to conform to Australian law and despatched later.
