Hi,
I had a parcel sent to me Thursday last week by T24, it didn't arrive then eventually the tracking updated yesterday morning (Monday) saying it had been sent to the wrong D.O (Huddersfield - a complete different part of the country) and had been immediately rerouted.
Since then, it hasn't been recieved today nor have there been any new scans on the tracking. Iv wasted 3 hours today trying to get through to the RM helpline without success.
Can anyone shed any info on the time taken/when delivery may be or any info at all relating to what is or may be going on on?
Tracking is MZ 4572 6517 3GB
Thanks!

Without giving the exact address could you give any details regarding its intended destination? e.g City/town/village name and postcode? If slightly wrong it may be a reason for it going in the wrong direction.Beyond_Puzzled wrote: ↑03 Mar 2026, 17:22Hi,

Hi, the parcel is heading to address in Scotland (not highlands/islands). It shouldn't have been near Huddersfield at any point.
I dont believe there's a problem with the address used by the sender as it is a single order split into 2 packages which were dispatched at the same day/time last week. I recieved one pretty much as normal on Sat, however the other, which should have arrived at the same time has been delayed and ended up at Huddersfield D.O. etc...

It should have been scanned at least once in a mail centre, which makes me think that it has got stuck in a sack or packet sleeve and been missed, only being found when the sack or sleeve reached Huddersfield DO. Was it posted at a Post Office?

I think u could be right about how it ended up in Huddersfield without going through a mail centre - it would make sense potentially as if it's the same as the other package then it's a fairly small parcel.
I dont know for definate if it was sent in a post office but Im leaning toward it being a parcel box or similar as I'm sure from memory if sent in a post office, the post office location/address shows in the tracking details.
I guess the question is what's happened to it after being rerouted from Huddersfield....
Iv wasted over an hour queuing again today to spk to someone on the RM helpline with no success and am unable to spend any more time doing the same. Contacted the sender who were arseholes and whosaid there's no problem in their eyes as it says 'in transit' so "it's clearly on its way without issue"

It's a long shot I know but is there anyone that works Leeds mail centre on here?
Iv managed to get a tiny bit of new info from RM that doesn't show on the tracking for this pack. Even if nobody from Leeds, if theres anyone with knowledge of protocols in mail centres generally or protocol for a package in this sort of situation and wouldn't mind answering 1 - 2 questions then I would be very grateful - I ask because on some previous times of me/family/friends dealing with RM telephone help due to things goin wrong - they have told 100% complete lies so I don't trust them necessarily
Thanks again

The processes of a Mail Centre and the opinions of Customer Service person may not be the same. If the parcel has been found in a sack or corner of a sleeve in Huddersfield, then I would expect it to be manually forwarded to the intended address at the first opportunity. This might involve sending it to a larger office such as Leeds first. Leeds should have an Outward despatch to locations such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen etc.

Re: T24 sent to wrong D.O - hasn't moved/updated tracking since
I finally managed to speak to RM help earlier who told me the pckge had been sent to Leeds MC from Huddersfield D.O and recieved there yesterday although there's no new scans showing such on my tracking.
According to them, among other things they aren't allowed to contact the MC to get any potential further info or sort the problem. She also Said due to the mistake & then being rerouted from Huddersfield it won't be sorted 'normally' - it will have to be manually sorted at every stage of the journey now which will take considerably longer and will also prevent any tracking updates...
Is any of this true? As to me it sounds ridiculous and I can't see why any of that would be the case or needed...
Regards

Utter rubbish, simply scan it and send it. This is the whole point of tracking each parcel.

Delivered in Kilmarnock area 11:54 today.
Out of interest was anything amiss with the address label, or had writing been scribbled on etc, ie why did it go to Huddersfield, Beyond Puzzled ?
