Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Hey there! Just a quick heads-up: if you’re using X (twitter) @Royal Mailhelp, be extra careful right now. There’s been a surge of scam bots and shady accounts pretending to be Royal Mail. Even though the official support account is gone, these scammers are still around, and they’re getting pretty clever.

Here’s the deal: without @RoyalMailHelp, a lot of fake accounts are trying to fill that gap. They might reply to your tweets or DMs, posing as official support. Be wary if they start asking for personal details like your phone number or tracking info—they’re usually just trying to trick you. For example, one user recently tweeted about a delivery issue and got a scam call within minutes, trying to push a “compensation” app.

Here are a few signs you should look out for:
- **Quick replies asking for info**: This is a major red flag. If someone’s rushing you for your details, it’s likely a scam.
- **Suspicious accounts**: Some fake profiles use forged Royal Mail letterhead to seem legit. Just because they look convincing, doesn’t mean they are!

Royal Mail has been facing these scams for a while now, with fake accounts sending out templated messages to fish for your info. To stay safe, stick to the official channels. If you need help, here’s what you can do:

1. **Call them up**: Reach out at 03457 740740 (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm UK time) for tracking, complaints, or redeliveries.

2. **Use the website or app**: Check out the Royal Mail app or visit royalmail.com/track-your-item for updates. You can also submit questions through their online contact form.

3. **Visit in person**: If you prefer face-to-face, pop into your local delivery office with your tracking number.

Remember, don't share your details with anyone who contacts you out of the blue. If you think you've been scammed, report it to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk and keep an eye on your accounts. Stay safe out there!

Please note the ONLY official X accounts for the Royal Mail Group are:
