Moving from deliveries to Mail Centre

Post by realitybites »

Am going from deliveries to a Mail Centre and just wondering what i should expect. Is it just sorting (only ever arrived at DO and bagged up and delivered so all new to me). On a 25 hour contract, will that change anything. Usually take my break at the end of my shift, will I still be able to do that or is it a complete change.

So you have enjoyed life at the MC more than when on delivery.

In an MC you will working in what is really just a factory, start at time A.
Finnish at time B with break(s) at set time. Once you've sussed the
place and staff (screws included)you will just switch off & go on

Does thatt mean I will get a 30 minutes break as when out on delivery? Is it taken halfway through my shift or are there designated times for breaks.

FFS it really is our own fault that we don't get our breaks (me excluded because I love mine :Very Happy ) I personally could do with it increasing to 1 hour because then I could get more of my book read  .

That novel isn't erotic.
He doesn't look to be "interested".

you will get a 30 min break, check your 318 for time of break, or negotiate break at end of shift if you can,
also check if you have a "time bonus break" which will be pro-rata,
an dont take no sh*t off the wam"s there just as bad if not worse than the doms.
hope you enjoy :cuppa as we get plenty of "unofficials"

Thanks, I take it a wam is a type of lino or dom. Have seen less problems being discussed in this forum than blue shirts so hopefully better working environment.
