I haven't paid the political levy for years. Hardly anyone in my DO does. Personally, I would start paying it again if could be assured not one penny of mine found its way into Labour Party coffers.

I would support such a motion, I think there is a strategic weakness in tying ourselves so closely to one Political Party, as evidenced by the years in which New Labour has been in power.

Well said.Its like the TUC conference this year with Brendan Barber warmly welcoming the delegate from Cuba then opposing a motion for a general strike.Though I did understand why some delegates wouldnt back it because they couldnt deliver the membership.
