What was the point?
What was the point of having an official ballot for industrial action when as it turns out unofficial action was always going to kick off somewhere anyway?

Why Ballot?
The union had to ballot to stay within the law.
If some members go on unofficial strike action that is their decision.
They are entitled to make it but I personally think they are wrong - but they, like me, are entitled to their opinion and I just hope they have thought things through as I believe unofficial action is the biggest threat we have to winning this.

Mailjock. I disagree, mate.
By doing unofficial IA shows how utter desperate these souls are. It's the last straw for them. Do you really think they wanted to do U/IA?
Provocation, being treated like shite, bullying, employee contempt etc seems rife in some quarters down south. Up here, perhaps not as bad.
They clearly did take proper I/A earlier this wek, but still felt the need to escalate their cause. I really am with them on this.
Unofficial IA means they have downed tools because their working conditions have become too much. It could happen in any job, any time - just so happens it's RM - and they are renowned for treating staff like s**t.
Behind all this, we just want the same deal.

As for treating staff like shite, funny how Leighton came up when he started the job about stopping the bully boys and the like ,but was he really looking inward or was he saying to the media, look at me setting the world to rights, sorting out the problems and then getting Dims to pressure staff into alsorts, I just hope he is beginning to feel the pressure cos it will be his lying ass hanging oot he window next..BRING IT ON.............

I think we'd all like to stick to official IA, but sometimes we're left with little choice but to do otherwise.
There's one hell of a huge backlog of mail right now, it won't get any smaller. The larger the backlog, the bigger the headache for Leighton & Crozier.
We're holding the whip hand now, no amount of bullshit from the pr**s who pass for management will have any influence with us. The onus will be on
them to give us a fair deal if they want us back in, anything else will just not cut it. Those two arseholes may fanny around for a while, acting the big
I am, but they'll back down sooner or later, they'll call off their moronic rottweillers like that prick, Jenson, in South London, and we'll walk back into
work with our heads held high, and our pride and dignity intact.
I bet those two w*****s won't walk away from the talks at 4PM tomorrow, Bullshitting morons that they are.
