It's never a good idea to give the employer a platform to influence reps,end of story.
It's the wrong message to send out to all concerned including RM.

aye some areas are weaker than others and with the consultative ballot there was a nod to why that is(some branches and reps not up to it).
To give Moya Greene 1 hour of a 4 hour conference doesnt seem to be using the time proportionately and I hope the Bridgford rep gets the first and last question and she exits the stage under a shower of sausage rolls.
CWU Local Representatives National Forum – 12th September 2013 Birmingham International Conference Centre
The purpose of this LTB is to advise Branches that the Union will be holding a National Forum for all CWU Local Representatives within the Royal Mail Group on Thursday 12th September 2013. This Forum will take place at the Birmingham International Conference Centre and will commence at 11am and conclude no later than 3pm.
The Postal Industry is facing unprecedented challenges and the Agenda will reflect all the key issues we are currently dealing with including National Talks and our current dispute, privatisation, pensions and the company’s future strategy.
The Forum has been agreed with the company and normal release arrangements will apply. Any travel or subsistence costs will be proper to CWU Branches.
The meeting will also be addressed by Moya Greene, the Chief Executive of Royal Mail and there will be an opportunity for a short round table Q&A Session.
Please ensure the attached invite letter is immediately forwarded to all CWU Local Representatives including those in Parcelforce. A Final Agenda will be circulated closer to the event.

In fact it is financing it big time by paying the wages of 2000plus reps for a day away from their jobs. Do you not think Lounge Lizard that this is an unusual form of financing from a Chief executive that is imminently going to have a national industrial dispute on her hands
I think a lot will happen between now and the 12th September. A lot of units have summer lapsing plans in place which are coming to an end, the majority revert back to normal resourcing on 2nd September. I'm hearing that management in my area will be saying that the lapsing plans continue indefinately, this will not be accepted and will guarantee reactions. The 2nd September also sees the CWU holding a meeting to declare a timetable for the strike ballot. The 2nd September also sees those crooks in Parliament return from summer hol's, I'm pretty sure there'll be an announcement from them about Privatisation to add fuel to the fire. As for the meeting on the 12th with Moya, if we get there, it is a strange one and the hostility aimed at her may well be a ploy by her to use against us in the press, we need to be careful.

Its almost as if you think that Moye has an alterier motive in paying for the meeting.

Second thoughts Moya. In this job I have at least three holidays a year, and many lovely weekends with my rich friends at Chequers. If I upset these posties and all those lovely Royal Mail customers they may turn against me in 2015, and I will lose out. I will be stuck in my multi millionaire style mansion in rural Oxfordshire and if wify dear wants three holidays a year I am going to have to put my hand inside them long pockets of that lovely suit and blue tie that I wear on a daily basis. I might even have to go out and get myself some directorships to make ends meet. Sorry Moya, this time I cannot support you any longer, but here,s your flight tickets back to Canada and I,ll get online and get my mate George to send you a nice juicy cheque for all your troubles. On balance, I'll put my money on my take on events.....I could be wrong...but I'm long in the tooth about how these people operate, I hope your right, but i doubt it.
