From what I can gather, The 'clear solution' is that a 'workshop / investigation/' will be done in 2014 using impartial examiners to review the true exposure of B&H - which basically is the very same as mentioned in LTB 170/13. ( From what I can gather has had no response from it )

Other than that it will be ££ loaded with lots of danglies so people will just see dollar signs, rub hands and agree the agreement.

I doubt is there is anything 'groundbreaking' at all. RM said way back that they would move on pay/pensions/job security and these were ticked off in the early rounds of negotiation.

I'll await it's output then watch as the fruit pickers see the ££ and wave this in. - Shame really as much more could have been done given the timescales and awareness of internal issues.

Also whatever the agreement, be prepared to work a damn sight harder from next year, that's a given

what a complete shambles...still not prepared to tell us the workers anything at all about this deal :cry

the fact the silence has gone on so long kind of tells you the delivery posties are getting shafted again and being brushed aside by the offer of a few hundred quid to shut them up :shhhhh

whoopee :evil/mad

We had these impartial examiners in at my office during the summer, Price, Cooper&Waterhouse I think was the company, showed that extra staff was needed in certain functions, backed up with all there mathematical crap, flow charts etc etc, Royal Mail accepted their findings, then as the office wasn't making enough savings they threw the 'impartial advice' in the bin :cuppa

a bit dissapointed with the PEC they are to quick to ammend this agreement they should have asked for a extention
of 7 days then after that put in for another extention that would than have got the deal sorted by feb 2014.
so when do the talks start for next agreement.
merry christmas and a happy new year to everyone.

It's a moot point because they have accepted but you were wrong they could have rejected it but it would have been a brave move by the PEC.
Scotland1 wrote: as you will have heard on most news channels, there has been a deal agreed, and there will be no strikes before Xmas, so what don't u understand about it,,
Its was a negotiators agreement and part of it was that during the ratification process there would be no strikes, if the PEC had rejected the deal, an unlikley scenario I grant, strikes could have been on again (but probably not well supported).

So the solution to not accepting the deal is to be neutral and put it to the membership for their vote without any positive/negative feedback and TRULY let the membership decide. No slanted pamphlets for the positives, no building up the advantages of the reviews, no making a big deal out of the security of employment because that would have been a negotiable any way whenever they needed to change.

Give each member a FULL disclosed agreement with, if necessary, explanatory notes from the solicitors. The %age pay rise over 3 years is good so it hardly needs to be trumpeted as the deal clincher as, I'm sure, is what RM considers it to be...............especially if it can be revisited!

At the moment they are busily working on trying to make the wording as beneficial to the members as possible before it sees the light of day. Any guesses as to how many days we'll get to peruse the ground breaking deal before we have to vote it in.

RM were never going to concede their style of management is abrasive at best and is problematic for industrial relations. They will always insist on managing without interference from the union. Reviews mean carry on as before, nothing changes.
Complain about B&H by management and you will be victimised :mad Workload; it's a management issue, etc. The new agreement protects managers' bonuses. :evil/mad
