My gut feeling is that of one where we were last week - i.e delivery's not sorted but 'plans/future strategy/cut the heads off a chicken see how fast they run will be collated in 2014 with a view to make the workload easier... At which time RM will be looking at introducing new tech and a 'WCM Parcels Division' to assist with the parcel side of the business - in other words - as you were.

Looking back at the last few months, RM were always going to concede a bit on the pensions/pay/ and job security so I think those elements were done in the first few weeks.

Things that worry me into 2014 are: Delivery agreement & the 'alternate discussion methods' other than striking - which basically means although never the case of an all out strike in the future - the ballot will be harder with more legalities to crosss & tick.

Anyway - above my take on what I see.

Thanks to Dingo for drip feeding the forum, I can appreciate a hard position to take the flak but in all honesty, other than what you have provided - The union has pretty much not said a word of note to it's members during these negotiations :cuppa

What worries me is how did the position shift from no deal to deal in a couple of hours?

Maybe is was the threat of the 15 min rep walkout that made them break down in tears and accept defeat.

Or maybe the coffee ran out.
