POSTMAN wrote:I never get how it works elsewhere,at my place we see the screw,he has a shuftie at the leave on the computer,an answer is given and a new updated leave card is printed out.

None of this dear John shite.
You're in a smallish office where almost everyone is full-time and you haven't had a delivery methods revision.
Your leave is a piece of piss to work out.
My office works the same way as Postmans FT and we certainly arn't a small office. Obviously if people are refused the requested day off they can write to the DOM.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Leave me alone,i'm just poking him. :nervous
Anyway i think putting all leave requests in writing can only be a good thing,if only to help with average line manager reading skills.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

It is Royal Mail management that is causing his situation, and it is also Royal Mails medieval attitude to sickness that is giving us all grief. If we had a caring employer who had caring managers then I would support you 100% if someone was pulling a fast one. Unfortunately we do not live in that world.
two wrongs dont make a right, and by lying he would be just as bad as they are

ZX135 you sound so righteous. Have you never in your life told a little white lie? This man has told you that he must have this time off. He has repeated this to his line managers on several occasions, and has been totally blanked. Let them sort it out on the Saturday, or get their ass,s into gear and deliver it for him. They have the why and know hows to make this mans life easier, but have chosen to act like little h.tlers. Hand on heart, have you never manipulated a situation to suit your requirements, especially when they are of an upmost importance to you.

It would not be a great idea to go sick having told the DOM you are taking that day off.

never needed to lie, always other options, personally i would have asked moya on his ass by now, going by what youve just said, why even bother saying he is sick? if your just going to let them sort it out why even lie?

i just dont like people abusing the rights that others have gained for us over the decades
