The real worry with BSI is that it is not a concrete figure....it is an ethos and one which any right thinking union would avoid if possible.
The ethos that a working man or woman can be thought of as a production machine that can be made more efficient simply by the use of incentivisation.

Brilliant fishtank,but thats the name of the game at the moment as was time and motion in years gone by,thats why
if it were to be used it should have been agreed nationally at the lowest possible value,in effect it seems unless you
got a cracking rep and a solid office then your on a hiding to nothing.Something as cold and calculating as BSI 100
should not be let lose on the membership and implemented by the shite that passes for management in Royal

Possibly because the outdoor secretary has said that for most indoor work 100 BSI is achievable? (thats just
from memory but im sure ive read Gibson say that in the voice? but not 100% sure?)

All this shite about sorting speeds makes me laugh. We were told by a straight- faced DIM, about 8 years ago, that within that year all mail would be coming in pre-prepped. All we would do was to check the re-directions, bag up and go off on delivery. 2011 and we still have postmen and women standing at a bloody frame sorting by hand - unbloodybelievable!!!!! british standard institute, 100% bsi means we are robots, national agreement says, we will work or stepped process to attain top 10% decille? in country, or office, however as it will be impossible to achieve 100%, ie if double slots, or more than one letter in slot, etc, etc, no top ten can be pursued until all offices are into iwt or walk seq revisions, media and royal mail are basing all potential job losses on perfect results, this is just scaremongering, usual tactics from shitty managers, hope this helps im no expert but that is what we are working on in our branch.

Truth i dont know i have only just found what the BSI intials mean i think. We are going down to 75% BSI? I still dont remember signing up for ANY BSI so i just dont know.

Would seem some would like to devide London from the rest of the UK? They dont seem to get we all as CWU members work from the same paperwork from HQ and some branches and their membership are worse than stupid and LAZY and dont get involved! BSI - British Standard Indicator. It more or less means that 100% = 100% efficient. It's a bollocks way of trying to make you work to 100% of your capacity all the time. Turning people into production line machines..
