Re: Dignity and respect at work
You won't be able to get anything off the intranet now as it's all encrypted!
We're trying to find a way round it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Dignity and respect at work
What about copying and pasting it into a Word document, and saving it?
A good security system would prevent you doing that. But I'll be surprised if they're using anything that sophisticated (and expensive) at RM.

Looks like POSTMAN will be unemployedPOSTMAN pretty soon then. Posting on the 'Net that you're looking for a way around your employer's encryption to gain unauthorised access sounds like it's P45 time...POSTMAN wrote:You won't be able to get anything off the intranet now as it's all encrypted!

The DRAW agreement is AFAIK available to all RM employees on the Intranet and all RM employees should have access. However as they don't especially in DOs POSTMAN is merely attempting to lift a PUBLICLY accessible document so that he can post it on here. There may be a question over breaking the encryption, but I can't see any issue over copying a public document.

If it's publically accessable why is it encrypted? Why is it pass-word protected? Who said it's OK to repost RM stuff on a non-RM site? The DRAW agreement is AFAIK available to all RM employees on the Intranet and all RM employees should have access. However as they don't especially in DOs POSTMAN is merely attempting to lift a PUBLICLY accessible document
Employees have been out the door for less...but if that's paranoia..

Anything that you try and pull off RM comps, no matter how saved is now encrypted.
As postman said, I asked about this and was told the same by my Manager, even he can't put stuff on his Mem Stick and work on stuff at home now,
But his Mem Stick will still work on any RM comp so he says.So going by this they must have a corporate key file on the RM comps with is used automatically
to decrypt files on the fly.

Sadly, that doesn't help us get the supposedly public document out to everyone who should have access to it. Bloody typical that! They issue something which is supposed to be available to all employees. And encrypt it, so that we can't get at it!

I must have quite a good Dom, because he lets me look at anything i want on his comp, as he says were meant to be working together open and Honest Relationship ect.
Some other Managers and DSM's could learn a thing or two from him on this and quite a few other points, As for traffic figures, RCS, TM1 or anything else for that matter we get to see it all.

We get nothing, no access to the computers, no information unless approved by area management but then we've no time at work to actually do any of these things because of our workloadGeezer wrote:DGP
