The electoral system needs reform.

A minute portion of the UK electorate with 5 tellys, 3 sheds and a sauna in the conservatory.

As for the sauna and conservatory - nope can't say I have either, I can't afford them - but I do have a greenhouse in which I grow tomatoes and peppers and peas, beans and potatoes and of course the ubiquitous herbs outside.

Why would it be, it would be a general election policy for the labour manifesto.

It should be in any Labour GE manifesto. Renationalisation of Royal Mail is Labour Party Conference policy, but was ignored by the previous leadership.

You can't reform the electoral system simply because the majority of voters don't get your message, at some point you have to question either the message or the messenger, pick one or both but don't waste your time blaming the system or the media or even the voters themselves, that's just taking your ball back because no one will let you score.

At the end of the day here is someone who while I do not agree with his defence policy and other things is a true socialist and an alternative to the career politicians whether he is electable is for others to decide and for that we can vote for him or against him. This is democracy at work many countries don't have this right for all this we can be thankful for democracy!

No it was because there was a right wing Labour leadership. The privatisation of RM was unpopular with the general public, and the Tories did not have a mandate for it, they had said they would keep RM in public ownership.

Some/most of those resolutions etc are put forward by assorted dreamers and nut-jobs, and aren't achievable in the real world. Then again, it's been long-recognised that all party conferences are really for net-working, alliance-building, drinking and a good chance to spend a few nights away with the girl-friend.
Labour's should be interesting next time though...seeing the Corbynistas in action should put paid to any effective parliamentary opposition for a good ten years.

Tman iirc the resolution for renationalisation of RM was proposed by the CWU, and unanimously supported. This was three years ago, before the influx of new members. Most of the delegates then would have been long standing 'moderate' members.

Well I don't live in London, I was stationed there once but I settled back where I was born. I understand the problems of housing in London and the difference in house values. My eldest brother who has turned 80 lives near Windsor, he has a detached house, a conservatory and a shed and greenhouse, so even in those areas all things are possible. I commiserate with your lack of erm..................large feathered poultry.

I have nothing in common with Jezza other than grey hair, my garden is not an allotment, it's also a place for leisure with a pond with running water and fish, a large expanse of decking, several seating areas apple and pear bushes, a quite comfortable space to relax in, but best of all a place for my dog and I to play.

What Labour needs to do is convince those that have f**k all - and there's a lot more of them than there is people like you. And its a much easier ask than trying to convince people like you who are far too fat and comfy

No, you really think so? All the things I have stated are absolutely true, perhaps I should take photographic evidence and gloat even more.
You are right though I have tried to make the point from a personal view that there are more people like me than the so called left wing downtrodden masses Corbyn and his corbynistas portray and purport to represent. I am and have always been a socialist as any long standing members would know BUT people like me whether labour, liberal, tory or any other persuasion are in the majority and there isn't a cat in hells chance of Corbyn persuading them to follow his misguided path.

I would also like to say that I left the army after 11 years with very little money, no house, furniture or job, which pretty much equates to the f all you cry about today - so the things I have and own haven't been given to me I have worked for everything that I enjoy, the benefits that I have accrued which has taken me a lifetime to acquire. During that lifetime I have worked throughout even until I was in my 69th year, no benefits or handouts and no expectation that I am owed a living.
