DOOR TO DOORS HOW DO YOU DO YOURS

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Just thought I would start this thread as generally everyone does not like doing them so I thought if anyone had any good ideas for making them easier we should share it with RMC members.

What I try to do is take as many as possible on the quieter days (Mondays and Tuesdays) by prepping them in the normal mail and take where I am going. Unless it is a very quiet week this usually means that by Friday I usually have between 10 and 20 left to deliver where I have no mail for.

The drawback is that unless they are very light D2Ds or there are less than 3 - I don't have a proper light day, but then come Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I don't have as much to carry as those who do 20% per day.

Anyone got any other methods.

To me it depends on how many houses on my walk. (For the week) I just try to do them on Wednesday/Thursday if possible. IF I got a bad walk I spread it more over 4 days. I rarely do them on Mondays as I don't want to pop back to delivery office.

I don't know how you can do 20% unless you always get the saturday off. I get monday off one week, tues off the next etc, so can rarely do them 20% a day. Sometimes I do quarter every day, but by the end of the week I'm sick of the sight of them, so from now on I'm doing as many as I can mon/tues, and hopefully finish them off on my third day of the week.

Does everyone put them in their frame, along with the letters? Before or after throwing up your frame? I find it slows me down a lot having them in the frame already, but it's usually a struggle to get finished and catch the van, if I don't.

The managers has said that we got to do 20%mon-fri and they don't go out saturday. Once to make it easier I did 25%, but of course it went over and the manager has the nerve to refuse to pay me docket because I took 25% instead of 20%, so now if I am on a round for a week (or even if its different rounds and with reg posties say so.) its 20% perday, and if any left at the end of the week then its up to him to clear them.
