As I mentioned in a previous thread when I tried to purchase I was only allowed 6.5 days. Previously I had the 2 weeks on POAL. Any reason why I can't purchase 2 weeks?
Already sent email to the HR. Waiting for their response.
I've also posted in the other thread, I see you have over 15 years service so unless it's changed you should get 5 weeks 1 day leave so you should only need to pay for an extra 4 days
(You've never purchased 2 weeks, your entitlement from starting to reaching 5 years service was 4.5 weeks so 4 weeks 2.5 days and your poal uplifted that to 6 weeks so you actually purchased 7.5 days which should have deducted 3% from your wage, that should reduce to 2.6% for over 5 years service as you get an extra days entitlement, and then 1.6% for over 15 years as you should get 5 weeks 1 day )
I got the same, looks like it’s because I pay for dental care and I’m paying into the lump sum pension booster pot and AVC’s.
I also pay for a pension booster, but not for dental care. Also pay for CWU membership. So I wonder if canceling my union membership would change anything?

No-one is qualifying for POAL below manager level.
Why ?
Because all allowances / shift premiums / weekend rate etc will not be taken into consideration (see your letter)
the qualifying check is based on basic pay ONLY.
And that is 4p above min wage from april (new contracts) and £1.68 for legacy.
Your WAM, COM, Martin Walsh and co will of course all be getting it.
YOU will be offered ALU (unpaid leave) but only allowed to take it in blocks of 2 days to minimise disruption.
To be fair people moan they’re not paid enough yet want to pay to have extra weeks off. Most places only give you 20 days plus bank hols. Also might mean people who have been there for 20 years with 6 weeks leave might actually get some choice now being as the seniority counts for nothing. When I started I had just scraps left over, now everyone wants to be ahead of the line.

No. Some people, and not necessarily the same people as those who buy extra leave, moan that we arent paid enough for the work that we do.
Not that we arent paid enough to live on.
You can think that we arent paid enough for the work that we do whilst spending your money on whatever you want. It doesnt mean you must be poor to think that.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
