How about we just do as instructed and deliver the NHS letters?

If we have to leave some Tracked 48 to make it work so be it

So if it's a priority, how about the NHS pay for 1st class rather than DSA?
How about 2nd class get delivered as they should, not sat in a fitting for 3 weeks.
If it’s within the 2 or 3 days it would not be a problem. Im including the brown envelope with appointments which don’t say NHS on them.

Exactly this. Shame it wasn't said so bluntly in the parliamentary committee meeting. Unfortunately the NHS management want a 1st class service whilst effectively paying for a 3rd class product.
If they pay for second class, then that is what they want. Second class is within 3 days. This is the same for everyone who purchases a second class stamp, your comment is back to front it should read why is everyone paying a first class price for a third class service

As long as offices aren’t fully staffed its doomed to fail.As soon as we recruit anyone in our office someone leaves. Its clear that Unless there is change and that means not being stitched up and walking into a frame full of mail which hasn’t gone out for days just lowers morale we will just continue to lose people. Its a constant vicious circle atm and its customers that are being let down. What is worse is its the long serving posties that we are losing because they just see this big decline in the day to day operation which is horrible.

We basically have no reserves with any knowledge of the duties anymore. If they stay it's because they've been placed on a duty for months on end. If they do get moved or agency has to be dropped in, the operating procedure of late has been to have them do all the parcels as a DPR and have the duty holder do the letters and small stuff - you know, what the job was. Gets a lot more done than losing 10 minutes every loop wondering where your colleague has gotten lost. Nothing less helpful than babysitting on P&L. It's kept me happy.

The difference between 1C and 2C is built into when the mail gets dispatched from the Outward MC to the Inward MC. 1C is dispatched to the Inward MC from the Outward MC the same day it arrives at the Outward MC. The 2C is dispatched to the Inward MC from the Outward MC the day after it arrives at the Outward MC.

So 2 out of 4 frames should be clear every day, and second class delivery within 2 days of arrival at the delivery office? Or the day it arrives if it’s held at the mail centre?

2C manual letters and flats get sorted the day they arrive at the inward MC and dispatched in separate trays from the 1C, dispatched to the DO that day. For the mech it's whatever gets released by the DTS that is walk sequenced (walk sorted for wave 2).

Curious how it works with d2ds? Some parts of the delivery will get mail only twice a week and the other half will get it three times a week. Surely you don't have to clear a whole walks of d2ds in 2 days.

Only going by what I've read here but d2d will be done from Monday to Wednesday

Not sure how that works when they don't arrive to the office till late Monday but that's a different problem

Not giving them ideas but they could be spread out more consistently and delivered over a 2 week pattern, as rounds would be getting 5 deliveries a fortnight

I think that used to be the case, way back before single delivery. Maybe I'm mixing it up with having more than a week to clear mailsort.
