To be fair the biscuits patter is pretty s**t.
And people say it like its never been said before its on par with "if its a bill I don't want it".

people think it's acceptable to judge them...
I am absolutely judging them on how the have "negotiated" our jobs down to almost minimum wage dog shite within the last few years pal. Please explain
The new contracts were not negotiated.
The were brought in during the strikes when the two parties were not negotiating.
The wages for the legacy contracts are not almost minimum wage.
EP are committed to adhere to the agreements that outlined late last year and systematically they will come to fruition in my opinion.
Equalisation of contracts, increase of overtime rates, reversing of the new sick policy e.t.c.
The first probably being today, a pay rise in line or above inflation.
lets not forget the ultimate aim of the company during the strikes.
Self employed van owners picking up the majority of our packet/parcel growth in an Amazon flex gig economy dystopia.
What is the majority of our work now, oversized and parcels.
Let's not pretend the union are the enemy here.
In a market and environment that have given them little leverage in negotiations I think they have managed to keep our jobs far from 'dog shite' in the last decade.
They never get the credit they deserve.
Mistakes are made, like with everyone but their successes are never acknowledged.
The union had a 97% strike behind it and bottled thats a weak union with nearly the whole workforce behind it but they went for themselves when the subs got threatened,I thought we were meant to be bankrupt by now, they need new management at the top DW is like a repetitive tired old dog.

Yeah, the same faces, the same comms style and the same cautious approach that makes me think we badly need a change at the top of the CWU. For me, it was and still is, all about self-preservation. The problem isn't that the union exists but that it needs stronger leadership that actually matches the strength of the membership. The 97% strike mandate was a once-in-a-generation show of unity and strength and the leadership completely bottled it when it mattered. Nothing will convince me otherwise. The doomday scenario of the company going bankrupt has conveniently allowed DK to buy the whole company on the cheap and unfortunately there is no turning back now.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Problem is would new leaders do anything different if RM threatened to remove the subs again? Sadly we're stuck in a death spiral!

I would pay by direct debit if it means we win the strike the fact that RM can have them over a barrel is ridiculous.
