I've been with Royal Mail for 20 years. When I started I was at the bottom, I had to do all the crappy deliveries but better the devil you know I say. I knew that there was to be changes, but I expected there to be changes that incorporate our health. The last 5 years have seen big changes but I feel these changes have not taken into consideration our health in that we are seriously overburdened with weight over too long a delivery. I can't see myself being in this business for too much longer because of this. I know I'm getting older but after delivery, my arms ache, my legs throb, not to mention the stress inflicted by my line manager who is getting pressure by his manager to save pennies. At least the top level management get their bonus eh? For all our hard work. I wouldn't call myself a whinger, I just see things as they really are.
i'm sorry, i didn't mean to be overly flippant. i know what you're saying, and i agree 100%. i'm aching all over after most shifts as well.
It's ok. You're right though, "we're all doomed" (spoken in a pretty thick scottish accent)

most people on this forum will think i'm naive, but i'm hoping they've seen the error of their ways, and things will improve as far as workload goes.surely they must realise that they need a motivated workforce to do the job properly, and they want avoid future industrial action, and limit work related injuries etc, which are damaging to them financially. if not, i will probably have to look for a different job in a couple of years when i won't be able to cope anymore. i'll be gutted, to be honest.

Yup... DFS AGAIN this year and also council tax, water and electricity bills this week. I'm really not very popular with my customers at the moment!! lol

I had a letter from DFS inviting me to the event with the voucher... I haven't even started paying for the sofas I got off them 6 months ago yet!!
