1 in 2 Saturdays only works with 100% driving staff.
In the podcast , Martin Walsh said it actually solves the problem of non drivers , how that works I don’t know.
Are you sure he said 1 in 2 Saturdays? I honestly cant remember him saying it.
Can Martin maybe clear it up on here?
I've already answered this once.
Well I was talking g specifically about them saying 1 in 2 Saturdays off during the live feed - woody has cleared up that they said every other Saturday which yes is tantamount to the same thing but with a little wiggle room
But also have to note that what you’ve posted says “ allows for options “
That doesn’t mean everyone or every office will get 1 in 2 Saturdays or every other Saturday
I’m personally not that bothered about having 1 Saturday off in 2 I’m more perked up as a non driver with the possibility of keeping my own van sharing walk and not doing double mail every day

Yet more 'options'. Under Walsh's 'no plan b' delivery model the CWU misled members with promises of 6,7, 8, 11 options, which was completely dishonest as the options were governed by the duty structure of the office resulting in some of the real number of options being 2. Ward and Walsh are liars who'll say anything to keep the money rolling in. I'll believe it when I see it.

Predictable post from you as usual, adding nothing to the topic as usual.
If everybody is staying on their own rounds and also working the same hours but just having alternative Saturdays off then where does the £300m USO savings come from? It seems the only savings are that day off reserves won't be required?

Maybe they have realised that they would only have ever got the £300M if the new delivery method actually worked successfully everywhere and it clearly doesnt so they will have to settle for less savings

The ODM was never gonna work with rounds as big as they are now they would have to be reduced in size a fair bit for it to work but the savings they estimated would reduce. Scaling back to Saturdays to just tracked 24, SG specials and first class mail could work and lead to a reduced pool of reserves required and more Saturdays off.

If RM were to feed the packet scans made at the outward MCs into the DTS algorithm then it could release any mail for any DP that has got a packet.
Our office is hitting our targets with much less staff and that is doing one walk and 1C and tracked on the other walk. If we just have one person covering two walks they are just doing 1C and tracked on both walks. Basically all walks are being juggled in a way that it's not falling behind much. I would have thought they would have gone for this approach now that 2C delivery is more relaxed.
However this won't work over Xmas.

Agree but we always put extra drives in over Xmas so I assume this would carry on to handle the pressure.
