It is clear that in all parts of the UK managers are wrongly using PDA data to try to increase absorption and cut costs.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If you can do 2 of your deliveries and only go 1 hour overtime then you are giving managers all the ammunition they need via PDA actuals that those deliveries are too small. If you are 100% sure that all the deliveries across the country are exactly the same span with the exact same amount of mail then you are welcome to do as many deliveries in a day as you like and negotiate your own pay for doing it. Until that day you are comparing apples with pears.
Exactly this. If anyone can do two full deliveries, only 1 hr over their time, those deliveries need looking at, as well as the quality of the service that postie is giving. Are you trying neighbours with pkts? Are you signing and posting recorded letters? Are you walking or running across peoples gardens as a short cut, are you running around with 15kg on your shoulder? Are you 739 carding or leaving pkts on back doorstep? .

If a postie says I can't lapse today I'm too busy then on his return to office the next day he is presented with a report showing how long he stopped for how are the CWU to proceed with this information? The PDA actual box has been opened now there's no stuffing it back in. The only defense is re re re launch the do your job properly campaign and hope to goodness people realise that the days of ghosting OT and knocking off an hour early could well and truly be over.
