The problem with this idea that you can somehow make rounds as big as you like and keep the oversize etc as separate duties fails to take into account that you know, we aren’t robots and can’t walk infinite distances. I walk approximately just over 15 miles a day with my current duty, and I definitely feel that at the end of the day, and I am fit and (relatively) young. Much further and I’d have to consider at least changing the type of duty I sign up for.

I thought it was opposite being proposed rounds would be up to 20% shorter as we'll be effectively delivering double post every day? I guess eventually even that post will drop off, perhaps by then somebody will suggest 2c post is just delivered twice a week!!

There is not a chance that they will make the walks shorter. It will be the geo route’s version of shorter, which won’t actually be shorter.

I doubt "Evie" is going to be able to deliver all the 1c, Specials and Tracked plus do the Customer Collections if the walks aren't made shorter, plus doing effectively two days mail every single day will be a total killer on the days at the end of each.

In our office they were making us take the first class on the side we wasn't doing, there can be as many first class as tracked, it's impossible.

But surely their job is to make things better than they otherwise would have been for their members?

Not perfect, but just better, within the environment they're faced with. I think the CWU still does that, for all its faults.

The only job that has got better in the last 10 years is Dave Wards, votes for his own pay (140000+ a year), gets lots of free RM shares (for shafting his members) and he gets away with it every time because the majority of his membership would sell their own granny, for a £200 lumpa. Seems a bit strange to criticise an individual leader whilst saying the majority act incorrectly.
