where is that in the union room ? as part of the agreement it isn't a tool to conduct people etc , simple.citypostie wrote:You may be waiting a while for your utopia to arrive, dingo said in the union room the group's set up to roll the PDA actual usage for resourcing out have been stood down because the union and royal mail can't agree on how it will be used. A few people in the trial areas have said that the managers have been challenging people who regularly claim or cut off using the data so that might point to what the actuals will be used for. Not just to stop people ghosting and going home 30 minutes earlyworktotime wrote:they've been using pda actuals since the agreement was agreed as they need to look at where the hours will be lost in Oct , so no more flyers or ghosting o/t for the elite posties, lets hope the clocking in and clocking off comes in asap as well so everybody working there paid hours and its about time.

In the PDA data capture thread where dingo said that. The other stuff has been on the Facebook chat page. If you believe that they won't use it as a way to cut excess overtime down and to stop cutting off you are deluded. The union won't have a say in it unless you are in a strong office and are all willing to stand together.worktotime wrote:where is that in the union room ? as part of the agreement it isn't a tool to conduct people etc , simple.citypostie wrote:You may be waiting a while for your utopia to arrive, dingo said in the union room the group's set up to roll the PDA actual usage for resourcing out have been stood down because the union and royal mail can't agree on how it will be used. Too many staff dragging rounds out to get overtime in my office as well. If they claim an hour or hour and half everyday (which they do) or more that's like working their day off each week. And don't come back with, they might be doing the job properly etc. Because they claim the same amount on the same days every week. Hiw is that possible in a job where the work varies so much day to day? It doesn't add up. So what's worse, people doing extra work because they are quick and being paid for it or people doing what I've said above? I know which managers prefer people doing, especially when they've not got enough staff and duties to get outTheTrolleyMan wrote:Too many staff ghosting overtime

Some people just have a faster working pace and have a crack on with it attitude, this inevitably means they will be finished before someone who walks slower, uses trolleys, takes breaks, chats to people and generally is slower at the job.
This is just the way it is,why do people care if they go home after the job is complete? The job is done! And i do not agree that if your fast then your making mistakes, you can work at a fast pace and get everything bang on as many in my office do every day.Bitterness is certainly an issue here i agree with that 100%,some people need to worry about themselves more and stop moaning.

Too lazy to look into why ? I'll help.
Its the assigned equipment for the loop that is mandatory. So on some loops, it's the bag on shoulder method, if they didn't have straps you couldn't use them.

What it means is managers will leave you alone till something goes wrong. Then as part of the investigation into the root cause, you can bet they'll ask if you were using the assigned mandatory equipment.
Obeying the speed limit is mandatory, but people break that all the time. As long as the speeder and the runner understand the consequences if caught it doesn't detract from the fact that it is still mandatory.

Actually if you read the words of the agreement it doesn't say that at all.worktotime wrote:....... as part of the agreement it isn't a tool to conduct people etc , simple.
In fact it says under certain circumstances they can use it for conduct purposes but nowhere does it stipulate what those circumstances are.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Where did I contradict myself? I'll explain, the actions of people don't change the fact that something is mandatory.Obeying the speed limit is mandatory, but people break that all the time.
