If you can get a new boiler for £200 you're doing well! Mine had another 0 on the end

Yeah and then everyone would go sick the next day :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle
What has going sick got to do with your bonus
Exactly that's a myth peddled by unscrupulous managers, going sick does not affect your bonus, except for the overtime pro rata payment for P/T that TBT has just explained.

Well obviously you cannot get a new boiler for £200, but the Christmas Bonus will certainly help with paying for it...

I don't think they were going to give us them because of the dispute, but they have now backtracked and they are either arriving tomorrow (Thurs) or being posted tomorrow..

I'm fairly sure if you go sick in the two or three weeks before Christmas you don't receive the bonus, or maybe part of the bonus or the second 100 pounds, the following year.

Nope.

You only lose some of the bonus if you are on reduced pay, or not being paid. That's why you lose it when striking.

The extra bonus in January is normally any due for Part Timers who have worked overtime in the last 2 weeks of Christmas because the Pay Roll can't process it as per the schedule.

Added to 1st post for clarification as well.
Please point peeps to this thread when they ask the inevitable.

CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR ARRANGEMENTS 2017/18 INCLUDING PAY ARRANGEMENTS

Regular Pay (Basic & assigned allowances)
Overtime/SA/Ad hoc allowances performed w/c 11th December
Christmas Supplement 22nd December
From past LTB's but still applicable wrote:The Royal Mail pay directive states :

Part time employees are entitled to the xmas supplement on a pro rata basis. They will recive the payment pro rata to a full time (eg 40/39 5/39 hours ) week according to their contracted hours on the date paymentis made. Part time employees that vary their contractual hours and work full time for a two week period during the christmas pressure period will be paid the full christmas supplement.

Eligiblity for payment is linked to employment during the christmas pressure period.

For each full week an indivdual recieves no pay during the presure period ( eg unpaid special leave etc ) the indivdual will lose one quarter of the supplement.

For each full week where basic pay is reduced for sick pay pension rate the indivdual will lose one quarter of the supplement.

For each full week where basic pay is reduced for sick half pay the indivdual will lose one - eighth of the supplement

For each day counted midnight to midnight excluding bank holidays on which an employee takes unofficial industrial action their supplement will be abted by 10%
for officail action it will be abted by 3%
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
