The most likely sticking points will be related to deliveries - workloads, office savings, bullying etc. Royal Mail are adamant that workloads are fair, savings are achievable and bullying etc takes place between posties more often than not. In suggesting that management would even consider bullying/harassing a postie is just nonsensical in the mind of Moya. :arrrghhh

The problem with deliveries, my friend, is that in most delivery units we are faced with an unrealistic workload. This is coupled with a culture of bullying and harassment by management (in order to complete the unrealistic workload), that leaves many posties in utter despair on a daily basis. If we cannot use the current dispute/negotiation process to address this issue then we are - as both a union, & as a publicly listed company, dead in the water!

i was on the walks 25 years ago
we didnt have vans to carry our work and transport us to first drop
no drivers to do our parcels or drop drop bags off
and in those days there was a thing called the 2nd delivery
where after a short break for a full english
you had to do the same walk again that you completed 2 hours earlier
we didnt moan , we just got on with it

Well obviously you got out at the right time, even 10 years ago the job was manageable. There's no point in equating what the job was 25 years ago to today - nothing is the same, though why not give it a go?

What about Postman Pat's van.

The bloke says he is a 'conman' - and we believe you. Not biting especially coming from someone who claims to be attached to the MC forum: it is a wind up!!!

Posties still get on with it otherwise there would have been wildcat strikes or the system would have ground to a halt. Maybe getting on with it is really the problem - it appears now too late to do much about things.

How can deliveries get sold down the river? There will be a vote where the majority of the voters are in deliveries. The reality is that anything short of a return to task and finish will not result in any real change for deliveries. Work all paid hours coupled with USO obligations are the whips from below and above that will maintain things as they are. I am not against working all paid hours but in deliveries this is based on estimates, expectations and targets leading to the problems we have now.

They can't, but it's something people love to repeat on here as though repeating it actually makes it true.
It comes joint top with "we had them by the balls last time and the union bottled it".
And just ahead of "there's a lizard in charge of our DO"
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
