Where the hell did you get that from ? There is reading between the lines and there is re writing the book :no no .

My insight would be 2 weeks notice - thats unusual the contract states 1 week notice.
He doesn't have to give any notice after only being with RM for 1 month. He won't have accrued any holiday entitlement, plus he would have been on the standard 6 week trial period, so he wouldn't have a contract.
There's a 6 week trial period? I didn't know that, I thought the duration of your contract of 3 or 6 months was your trial period?

What is the average time of getting out? I'm with a partner and he doesn't start until half 8, I've been getting in at 7 this week so I can prep both and we haven't been getting out until 9.45. I always start to get a bit paniky when everyone's leaving and there's only a few of us left.

On a sort of hijacking of thread way, how do you go about quitting? I have been offered a new job doing something much more up my street (excuse the pun?) same hourly rate, full time instead of part time and a nice family business. I work in a small and very short staffed office, and have never had to leave a business like this before, do you write a letter if so what do i write?

I don't want to leave on bad terms with everyone and people being fed up with me because i was offered something better out of the blue (it really was, my week off and i get a phone call saying this may be an odd questions but i have a job going and i was told to give you a call), I feel like i will be leaving people i got on well with high and dry with a workload they can't do, but at the end of the day it is the managers problem to solve not mine. We are just starting to hire one more person and then i drop this bombshell.

*Edit* 2 blocks of text make better read than 1.

A letter is the polite way, but you can just front up to the Manager and tell them. Just give them the full 7 days notice and check make sure that you won't owe them any holidays. You'll accumulate around 2.5 per month so if you have taken your full entitlement you might owe them that.

At the end of the day it’s a very physical tiring job.

Some people simply do not wish to feel totally worn out and fatigued by the end of the week.

Its certainly not a job for everybody and so many come into RM with a total miss conception of what the role of a postie is really about.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
