I am being conduct coded for sitting down whilst doing inward sorting,the boss asked me to stand up,I thought he was joking and when he asked again I said I can't because I have a bad foot,can he really do this???

Absolutely unbelieveable! How does your manager expect to earn peoples respect by acting like this? Unfortunately common sense isn`t so common.

We`ve had people moved during IPS because they were talking, yet the "manager" can walk about and talk to his "pets" about football etc. I`ve been in a number of jobs before RM, including the Forces, but never in my life have I come across such an incompetent bunch of so called managers as I have in RM.

Good luck with it, but can`t see him pursuing this, someone is bound to tell him to catch himself on.

What a decent office should do for someone in your position is show just how much of an arse your manager is making of himself.
Next time he pokes his head out of the office everybody should be sitting down sorting.
That would be funny and he would get the point very quickly.

I always sit down to do IPS, although not being very tall I find it a bit of a stretch to reach the furthest pigeon holes.
I've often thought the ideal solution would be an adult sized baby bouncer which would give the perfect combination of comfort and maneuverability.

did nights about 20 years,one job was just sortin all night so i sat at fittin one night and boss came over and told me not to sit down{shift was 8:30 till 6:00 4 night a week},had a word with union rep and he found out you could sit down for 10 minutes in every hour,the boss diden't argue with that,but as stated was 20 years ago,dont no if that applies this day and age
