Now the old HUM-DINGER!!! You gotta say something aint ya!!!! I cant have it... Now dont get me wrong when out on delivery on a hot day i used to sweat big style.. But there is no excuse to change ya Clothes and WASH None at all... My Grandad came from a place in London that was one of the most deprived and dirty in Britain and he always drummed it in to all the family of personal hygene.. Being a Navy man as well If i ever as a kid looked abit scruffy or dirty thru playing out he used to get a scrubbing brush and a hose and scrub my neck and soak me... Hurt like feck... But it taught me a lesson... He was over the top on it but it went back to his early days when people died if hygene was neglected... As they lived in squaller... NO EXCUSE now days... for feck sake.. !!!! Saying all that ive got the record in my old DO for clearing out four full lines of sorting frames.... BAD BEER AND CURRY THE NIGHT BEFORE....
I got moved to a flats frame on my own... I never cared as it done me a favour!!!
H&S is a point tho .. as a serious matter of fact....
NO MORE POLLCATS NO MORE SMELLY strike breakers NO MORE SOAP DODGERS!!!

Ok,has EVERY office got one!!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ugh. Reading some of that I almost wish I'd never said anything. "Dead hamster" - bloody hell.
Tried all the usual stuff, spraying air freshner round, even lighting up incense sticks on my bay, loud obvious conversations with the guy one bay along: "John, can you smell that TERRIFIC STINK?"... "Yes - someone must have TERRIBLE BO round here." "Anyone got a turd on a string we could use as an air freshener?" - none of these hints seemed to be taken. I don't get how.
To be honest I was a bit of an armpit king when I started the job, then some guy started really picking on me making soap jokes. It was all a bit upsetting but it taught me a lesson real fast and I'm bloody glad it did.
Maybe it's just that you notice the stench of strike breakers or undesirables more, like I think I send one of our lot sometimes has a bit of a pong going on and his teeth make Shane McGowan look like one of the Osmonds, but you don't mind so much cos he's a funny guy.

We used have a part-timer a few years ago, we used to call him Rabbit hutch man, thats just what he smelled like, and another guy that used to wear about 7 jumpers even when it was 90% outside, try being in a van with him, i used to drive with my head out the window, and a rep a long time ago that had the worst breathe ive ever smelt and he always insisted on talking really close to my face, i used to check to make sure my eye brows hadnt fallen off...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

Re: re smells
Not a day goes by when I don't eat something with about five or six chilli peppers in it. Our office is quite small so as a rule I take it outside when I have one brewing, unless we've got some sort of contest going on.dongash wrote:i don't have b.o !!! but i have been known to have meat +potato pie, chips and that chinese curry sauce ( that smells of aniseed) washed down with a 2 ltr bottle of strongbow, just to fart in our ips alley near people i don't like!!!! for the purists amongst you the cider can be replaced with dandelion & burdock !!! this relly does reek!!!
