And why if you are working 40 hours do you think you don't have to do the work of a FT

If you want the overtime do the work that comes with it simples
i DO prep my own MAIL. I was wondering about the D2D under the NEW AGREEMENT

jesus H christ ... ask a simple question - get a load of abuse. is it any wonder we all walk around ignorant? it's cos when we do ask a question we get shot down for not knowing. well duh me.

i thought i'd explained it well enough, and I think THINK I have got the GIST of what I wanted to know from your lovely supportive messages. thanks! nothing like going through crap at work, trying to figure out the crap, then getting more crap. no wonder morale is down the pan.

I am gonna guess that I receive a basic payment of the pro rata £20.60, which will be £14.00 odd >>>>>>WHICH IS NOT A DELIVERY SUPPLEMENT!!!! <<<< whatever I do. so I am going to prep and deliver the door to door for LESS than what FT would get [this is an EXAMPLE I am not having a go at FT).

Ok. that's all I wanted to know. thanks for your help.

and btw I DID vote NO. I have also requested a FT contract for a long time now, but the answer's no.
It is a delivery supplement! You obviously haven't read the thread properly! That shows because you mentioned you were abused.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Apologies from me too if offended by my post, could of been a little more constructive and i will take note for future.

Just to point out 1 thing you say you will get £14 delivery supplement and thats less than the £20.60 for FT, MOST FT have lost their £12.37 early shift allowance in the £20.60 so are only really getting £8.23 for the d2d now being a delivery supplement.

Hope you find this post more informing and less offensive.

I'm sorry if my post wasn't offensive enough.

LOL thanks :Very Happy

i'm just a bit p'eed off this week, and confused and a bit concerned about next week's influx or whatever's going to happen. I have read the agreement but it's so vague and badly written it's hard to understand, and sometimes I just don't have the time to whale on through the thousands of posts on here for info (although I used to).

also I am knackered. sorry i flew off the handle :nervous :wave

TBT

ALSO ARE PTIMERS AWARE THAT FTIMERS WHO RECEIVE £6 OR £12 ESA CALLED 2007 PAY PROTECTION WILL LOSE IT MEANING THAT ALTHOUGH WE ALL LOSE POTENTIALLY £20 TO £30 PER WEEK FT LOSE EVEN MORE. IN EFFECT FTIMERS WILL RECEIVE A DELIVERY SUPPLEMENT OF £8.00 WHEN LOSS OF ESA IS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.

Not entirly true, All the P/T staff in my office untill recently started at the same time as the F/T staff they just had an earlier finish time.
Most are on 30Hrs contracts. Now to the point Im P/T and receive Early 05:00 Shift Allowance £10.20 which was protected when we had Ececutive Action taken on us by RM which moved our starts to 07:00.
I also get £24 on average a week D2D money. So that totals £34.20 on Average, but now i will only receive Approx £15.00 so please don't muddy the water by making out it's only F/T staff that lose out.

PS This is not ment to Flame anyone but i do get really pissed with both F/T and P/T members having a go at each other, we are all in this together and need to support each other through the changes which are about to hit us.
If we don't then all that will happen is RM will use it to thier advantage and we will all be F**ked.

Was attempting to make the same point Geezer that both FT & PT have lost money with d2d payments converting into a delivery supplement.

Maybe not very clearly.

P.S. How did that work FT & PT starting same time but PT finishing earlier, shorter delivery spans ?

Dont want to get into argument Geezer but if PT dont do IPS they must start after FT that do, or do/did PT leave office before FT so that they could do 3.5 hour delivery and finish before FT.

Which based on 30 hour contract would be 12-12.30 last letter if started at 6-6.30

It isnt though is it ?? Coz mail centre staff get it too

Nope they hey a Mail Centre Supplement of £8 per week + any PBS they already get over £8.

I'll do this load and proud again. Hopefully the message will get passed around.

THE £20.60 (PRO RATA) IS PAID FOR WORKING IN THE DELIVERY FUNCTION. IT IS NOT A PAYMENT OR A REPLACEMENT FOR D2D PAYMENTS.

FROM 7 JUNE 2010 NO ONE, NOT A SINGLE PERSON WILL GET PAID FOR DELIVERING D2DS.

hiya true,am a p/timer and have been with r/mail for nearly 5 yrs,i voted no in both votes since i have been here.you f/timers keep going on about how you have lost your esa (early start allowance) i guess, but thats all going to change has you know.within the next few months you will be lucky to start at 07.00 at the earliest.so its a bit rich expecting to still get esa, starting at that time or later.its no different to someone working nights and getting night allowance, then being told to work afters.

The P/T leave as soon as all the IPS has finished and they have their rounds pulled out, we don't have an official time to leave in our office so as soon as your ready you go and that includes F/T as well.
We Now start at 7:00 as it was forced on us with Exec Action we used to start at 4:45, and yes P/T staff finish time is 12:30 for those that start at 7:00

I agree. yet again this thread is dwindling into a s**t throwing competition between FT and PT.

I do think that PT have seperate issues from FT, but at the same time we have to stick together. there is a severe lack of communication between staff and union bodies ... this morning I have been gobbing off about D2D to find that yes I will be paid pro-rata despite taking the full whack out. I also understand from this thread that you lot have lost your ESA. fair enough we are both losing out. but ESA is a thing of the past (FT don't start as early as they used to). being fairly paid for the work you do is not. I was working on the assumption that because I only get part of it (I think the figure I will receive is closer to £12.00 but don't quote me on that) I would only take part of the D2D. silly me.

I also raised the issue of PTs (such as me) coming in at their contracted start time. say I start at 8.30 and finish at 2.30, it is likely that my duty will not be prepped for me going out on time, so I will not lose out on hours. instead the hours I would gain in the morning would be added on the end of my shift, because I would be out late etc etc. BOOK IT REAL GOOD as they say. however I would still only receive the pro-rata payment despite delivering all the D2D, I will just be working later that's all. and I can't simply refuse because from next week they will be classed as 'mail' and therefore not doing them will become a sackable offense. there are no winners in this...

 I wonder waht will happen when they decide the later starts just won't work, and folks are asked to start earlier again. will the ESA be restored?

Thats 6 hrs. You get your walk prepped for you when you are on 6 hrs? Most full timers in my office do two hrs sorting which leaves them 6 hrs to do their own duty. I work 6 hrs wed, thurs and fri, and fully prep and deliver the walk... and lapse.

The winners (at least in the short term) will be those who currently do not earn very much (or nothing at all) from D2D.

Drivers (i.e collections, parcel shifts), indoor staff that work in a d.o.

They are the ones that will get extra for doing nothing.

I would of voted "YES" if i was in their shoes...why not!

and no matter what way you look at both the part time & full time staff we will be losing out for doing more.
