In my DO we're flat out refusing their slash n burn "efficiency savings", which will take 5 walks. So, although all the walks have been revised and changed ready for a complete resign, we’re working exactly as we did before and everyone has the same duty.

My DO rep and the area rep have stood up for us all the way and kept us fully informed. They’ve also told us that this might lead to further industrial action in the area, as senior management may make an executive decision and go above the union’s head. Bring it on I say!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

There is a national instruction at the moment from head office that no-one agrees to any changes whilst we are in the current IA. The Reps should not even be in negotiations.
I have a feeling though that come Aug the Management will enforce these changes on us by exe action. I also believe that if this happens, CWU head office have already said that the offices concerned will be balloted.

This really is the summer of discontent. DONT!!! GIVE ANYTHING UP!!! Once it is gone, it will be very hard to get it back.
Stand firm, unity is strength, once they have some of these changes in some of the offices they will say, well it works there so why not here etc, etc.

Had a WTL today asked about the later starts. DOM replied it would be brought in by EA . Our DO is in dispute over this as I.m sure many DO,s are. Told him I for one won,t be changing my start times unless agreed nationally. Who do these people think they are?

It looks like they are trying to force later starts across the board.
(Stockton was told this week - later starts 13th August).

How many disputes do they want running at the same time????

You must try not to answer these sort of stupid questions, about change, at all but just refer the screws to the CWU and the curent disagreement, but if they push you then this is the perfect answer, well done kjbosco :Applause

CHECK WITH THE REP OR THE AREA REPS. ASK FOR A LOCAL BALLOT ON IA. IF THE DISAGREEMENT ON CHANGE OF START TIMES IS AT STAGE 3, THEN THE IR FRAMEWORK HASN'T BEEN EXHAUSTED. THEREFORE, RM CANNOT IMPOSE A CHANGE IN START TIME BY EXECUTIVE ACTION. THAT CAME FROM OUR DIVISIONAL REP.
ONLY IF THE DIVISIONAL REP HAS DISCUSSED THE DISAGREEMENT CAN EXEC ACTION BE TAKEN.
DON'T LET THESE RM BULLIES PUSH YOU INTO CHANGES YOU DON'T WANT. :cfo
