If you were delivering 6 D2D you would be on more than that right now.
The 35hrs is a red herring if you are not being paid for your breaks.

They can do whatever the hell they like, but they will never force me to go over my time, never. And if my DIM don't like it, tough.

Then they should really have taken prep time into consideration. I wasn't put on this earth to make Royal Mail's crap planning workable, and especially not at the expense of MY time, or, MY health. I'm at an age now where both are becoming more precious to me, not less.fishtank wrote:madelin4 wrote:DirtyHarry wrote:Try not to worry yourself sick over this. That's the point Harry the move is towards shorter prep and longer delivery and i will be honest with you i don't think i can do it.
I'm not that old, not that unfit but at the end of a long day i go up the stairs like an eighty year old.
But one thing is for sure RM don't give a sh1t about MY TIME or MY HEALTH.

Keep battling away, the "shorter prep and longer delivery" is pie-in-the-sky, a 5hr, 6hr delivery will always need the necessary prep, and most of us will never have the time to fit it all in our 7.5hr day.fishtank wrote:DirtyHarry wrote:Then they should really have taken prep time into consideration. Re: Evidence for 5hr Delivery spans ?
They'd never get 5 hr delivery in unless they take the weight off your back and the walking off your legs. Even if they had the lot of us 2 men and a little van, thats at a MASSIVE cost, not to mention, a van off the road every 9 days. 5 hrs is far too long and H&S would never go for it. If you're doing between 4 and 5 hours on the streets now, thats bad and you should never have agreed to it.

I don't get 6 D2D's though, most weeks it's one or two. If they pay me £400 a week basic i'd be on over £1500 a year more than I am now with current D2D's. I can't see it happening though, if RM can't fill 3 D2D contracts most weeks where are 6 coming from?fishtank wrote:OnAFlyer wrote:I'd take that - 35hr week for £400? Re: Evidence for 5hr Delivery spans ?
Sometimes.....the working man can be his own worst enemy,i got to one delivery office about 9am to clear their empty yorks out and cant get on the dork as the delivery staff are packing their cars with pouches and 8,9,10 pouches at that, why help RM out,I then go to another delivery office at 11ish and a there are loads of vans back in the yard, rounds finished
Now when these guys get another 150 drops on their rounds, they'll be running to the local union rep crying

No idea what that was supposed to say, but if RM want to pay me more for doing more work I have no problem with that.linkinpark wrote:FFS D2Ds aint about now although RM make huge profit from it now everything above what you get NOW is a 100% profit in the future! Thats what they want and thats what we will give em! If thats the case then lets send even more adverts in to imprison our customers to a system that enslaves even more people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OnAFlyer wrote:I don't get 6 D2D's though, most weeks it's one or two.
