Does anyone know the rough ratio of delivery staff to all non-delivery staff among the union membership? Will delivery staff be outnumbered by those not on delivery, who may only be interested in getting their pay rise and voting "yes"?dazzler123 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2026, 17:24

Delivery staff massively outnumber the other functions.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Do we get a vote?
From RM:
"QUALITY OF SERVICE IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR THE POSTAL UNIVERSAL SERVICE"
OUR DEPLOYMENT TIMELINE AND WHEN CUSTOMERS WILL SEE IMPROVEMENTS
Introducing our new delivery model will improve
reliability, but these improvements won’t happen
overnight. Our deployment plan will start in May 2026 and
is due to complete before the ‘peak’ Christmas period.
The changes will be rolled out gradually across the UK
from May 2026, at a rate of around 50 delivery offices
each week over five to six months. This phased approach
is essential to ensure the transition is smooth and does
not disrupt our customers.

Re: Do we get a vote?
CWU members will vote on the agreement. The Reps are being told at the national meetings that the agreement is the best the CWU can do. Any vote is meaningless.

Re: Do we get a vote?
Deliveries have always outnumbered all other sections. The CWU goes out of its way to disenfranchise deliveries and gets it way by using the other sections to outvote deliveries. As deliveries are the most affected it should be a sectionalised vote. That will never happen because Walsh and his mates would lose.goneaway wrote: ↑22 Apr 2026, 18:36Does anyone know the rough ratio of delivery staff to all non-delivery staff among the union membership? Re: Do we get a vote?
I'd have thought we were outnumbered now by managers, consultants and the staff to work on making propaganda for RMtv and Robin! At least they're unlikely to be in the CWU!

Re: Do we get a vote?
Overall in the company and just union members only deliveries probably outnumber all other functions combined by 3:1 or maybe even 4:1. Unless a vote is really close the votes of the other sections don't count for anything as anything is voted in or out by deliveries.tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Apr 2026, 19:58Deliveries have always outnumbered all other sections. Re: Do we get a vote?
Pay is separate from the ballot is it not.so clearly up to delivery staff whether its voted in.

Re: Do we get a vote?
Assuming the pay rise is separate why would any delivery office staff vote "yes", it would be similar to turkeys voting for Christmas, as we don't seem to be getting anything in return for a "yes" vote apart vague talk about an incentive bonus, which if it's anything like previous ones might be unobtainable anyway?
It's OK the CWU saying it's the only alternative but if that's the case let RM bring it in by executive action and they can then take the full blame when it's found to be unworkable.

Re: Do we get a vote?
It sounds like the outcome of the vote is irrelevant if the changes are starting in May anyway?yellowbelly wrote: ↑22 Apr 2026, 19:36From RM:

Re: Do we get a vote?
Well thats up to del staff how the vote goes.but my understanding is the payrise will be implemented in may.my response was to op who said offer a payrise an it will get voted through but its not part of it.so please don't blame mc staff as usual is on here whenever any deal is voted yes.del staff well outnumber processing distribution.TopperGas wrote: ↑22 Apr 2026, 21:34Assuming the pay rise is separate why would any delivery office staff vote "yes", it would be similar to turkeys voting for Christmas, as we don't seem to be getting anything in return for a "yes" vote apart vague talk about an incentive bonus, which if it's anything like previous ones might be unobtainable anyway?
