How about going undercover, state of the parcels bundled in york, non tracked parcels just chucked in grey bags ,go out when they go out.
A great idea until the undercover person is ditched (as a new starter) on a route nobody wants, with a postie who cuts corners/ rushes their prep and leaves in the duty van before the other side is ready (happened to me 3 times in my first 6 months)/ carves up the 2 duties so the new starter has all the tracked and dead walks (we have at least 3 in our depot, excuse: "I've done this 30 years and I call the shots, this it how it were when I started and management know I won't change")
Then it's the lazy workshy posties narrative again
Did anyone hear the lady on radio 2 today talking about being hit by parcels thrown through her porch window, also damaging her plants.
It happened so often she got a visit from the "post office manager" and when she wasn't happy with their excuses she contacted the CEO (or department) to resolve it.
Would love to hear the full story.
unfortunately society is divided politically, socially, economically and we forget that we are all human beings. people think because they havent had a payrise that others shouldnt. the fact is we should all be coming together to demand more
Divide & conquer - so simple yet so effective in every walk of life.
All i know about the job is when we have had agency staff who have come from a white collar office background they NEVER come back for a second day. Normally they have only taken out 1/4 of a duty as well.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
Nice to see journalists... who get over £100k a year to phone in 1000 words a week from home... comparing rail workers, posties and anyone else who dares ask for a reasonable wage to other workers on less, and never mentioning the millions these companies throw at shareholders each year (a large percentage of which goes straight to other countries.)
It's almost as though the country is run by journalists...
The state of absorption routes and the shocking service they get won't help our public image either, I've had 3 people come up and moan at me this week about it
Not sure journalists get paid that much. Average wage is under £30k. Some of the big columnists might.

Im not surprised to hear this, at all People from many other jobs would properly be shocked at what a day in the life of us (most) posties is now like.
Funny how all the good will and clapping of key workers is forgotten as soon as we fight for our rights and conditions.
Honestly, I expected nothing less. I was more shocked that the government didn't strip the right to strike from us and other key industries. It's blown over now, but there's always another crisis round the corner to exploit.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?
