Where - there are parts of the country still getting through their backlogs (unofficially) although RM are briefing that that vast majority are up to date. Give as an idea which town you are in and hopefully we will give you an insiders and unofficial view.barrowfordred wrote:This week I've received 2 items I ordered the day before, good work. Sorry about that, Barrowford near Burnley Lancashire, mail sent from Merseyside about 50 miles away.

Ah thats within the catchment area (both towns) for a new Super Mail centre for the North West (Warrington IIRC) - rumours are they are sorting and storing mail in Marques. They should be up to date soon - if you have not got it by Friday I would contact the sender.barrowfordred wrote:Sorry about that, Barrowford near Burnley Lancashire, mail sent from Merseyside about 50 miles away.
Merseyside used to have an execellent MC at Cooperas Hill, but RM closed it last year.

Re: postal delays, yet..............
There's a feature on the local news programme at the moment (North West Tonight) regarding the postal delays.
As you say a number of sorting offices have been closed in the last 2 years, Bolton and Liverpool among them, with the mail being handled in Manchester and Warrington.

Re: postal delays, yet..............
Hi
I originally posted on the "amazon serious delays" sticky and was referred to this thread.
Following on from that post, the lovefilm dvd arrived on thursday, just over a week late. I then found an "attempted delivery card" waiting for me yesterday afternoon so hopefully my amazon parcel is waiting for me at the sorting office. (incidentally I walked past the sorting office in ashton-under-lyne on saturday and people were queueing out of the door waiting to pick up parcels!)
The amazon parcel was posted Dec 31, and was (nearly) delivered just over a week later than the estimated delivery date of 7 January. So the backlog does seem to be clearing and hopefully everyone who is waiting for items will be receiving them soon.
Thanks to all the posters on this forum, whilst the postal delays were (and for many, still are) frustrating, the forum reassured me that it wasn't just me missing post and it gave me the reasons why.

Thanks for the updates customers.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
