Does someone use the name of Royalmail for a cheat?
Hello together,
I come from Germany and on my search for business partners I have got an offer from someone who say's, that he comes from Livewire Telecom Ltd and that he
use Royalmail for the delivery, so that Royalmail employees will confirm the rightness of the ordered goods.
I hope I am in the right forum..if not..I am very sorry.
This is the text I have gotten...can someone confirm it..it sounds like a cheat (is that method really possible?)..Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Thomas
Here the offer:

2) I go to the Royal Mail store and leave the products onto your name as the intended receiver.
3) Royal Mail will check the products to see if everything is OK with them and also the legal papers that will come
along with the products.
4) Royal Mail will send you a delivery notification to let you know they have the products you ordered in which you
will be told that they have them and that they checked them.
5) At this point you will have to go to a Western Union Agent Location and make a money deposit on the Royal Mail
payment agent name for the amount we agreed.
6) After you make the deposit you will have to send the info about the money transfer to Royal Mail (MTCN, sender's
name and address)
7) Royal Mail will verify the payment information and if everything is in order they will deliver the products to
you.
8) After you receive the products, check them and see that all is in order you will instruct Royal Mail to send me

If I received an email like that I would be very suspicious, a lot of his sentences don't make sense. Give it a miss if I were you

Sounds like a scam to me as well. If they were a genuine company they would have their own web-site with direct payments. I would not risk using this company.

Re: Does someone use the name of Royalmail for a cheat?
Four things:
The English is very poor in the email - a copy of which I received myself sometime ago and I deleted it.
Royal Mail do not act to confirm receipt on request only by online tracking. They do not and never will AFAIK send out confirmations.
We are a government organisation and therefore would have no need to use a Money Transfer agent.
We do not have a store. online or even offline - well we do buts its called the Post Office not Royal Mail store
ITS A SCAM PURE AND SIMPLE - delete the email and do not reply.

It is a scam, my friend.
But while you are here, can I interest you in saving money on your internet providings ?
I operate a highly-profitable internet service providings kompany and for the very small sum of just £8 per month, can supply you with hi speed 80Mb broadband servicings.
All I need is your credit card detailings and your 3-didgit PIN code, or you can send me a direct debit mandate and I will fill-in the monthly amount for you as part of my excellent servicings ...

I also received the same email from this person. Luckily I did my research and my gut instinct was not to send any monies from my research and this confirmed it for me. Too bad it is a scam because I would have loved to buy some of the products at the prices listed. Thanks for the info.

Could be worse - a email from Nigeria - don't even open them as it encourages them to send more , just delete them . The goods will be cheap - there isn't anyIPS wrote:That's all I need to know to smell a scam, but yes. SCAM!you will pay Western Union for the Money Transfer fee
Surprised it didn't have Arthur Daley or Del Boy Trotter at the bottom .

Yep, Western Union = untraceable payment. Send any money via them and wave goodbye to it.IPS wrote:That's all I need to know to smell a scam, but yes. SCAM!you will pay Western Union for the Money Transfer fee
