Two Plymouth brothers have pledged to cycle the equivalent of over two marathons for charity - following the unexpected passing of their mum, who was 'taken far too early'.
Tributes have been paid to mother-of-four Lyn Carne, after she suddenly passed away on January 10, aged just 57.
The death of Lyn, who was a valued employee of Royal Mail for over 20 years, has come as a huge shock to her children, Andy, 26, Steve, 28, Michelle, 33 and Rachel, 31, who were previously unaware that she had any heart conditions.
And now Andy and Steve are planning to cycle 58 miles on the weekend of February 26, on what would have been Lyn's 58th birthday.
"Losing mum has come as a huge shock to us all," Andy said. "She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and colleagues".
After initially starting out with a small fundraising target, the brothers have already managed to raise over £1,200 for the British Heart Foundation, in just two days.
"The generosity of family and friends has been overwhelming, we can't thank them enough," Steve said.

Andy added: “The target was originally set at £150 by Facebook, so I never thought we would have received the level of support that we have."
“Royal Mail have been really supportive to the family and have donated to the British Heart Foundation too in mum’s memory, which we are so thankful for."
The British Heart Foundation funds over £100 million of research a year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them.

Their website states that around 7.6 million people are currently living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK, excluding the ones that are undiagnosed, and it is the biggest killer worldwide.
They also offer lots of advice and support for those who are worried about coronavirus, or looking for general information about heart or circulatory conditions, tests or treatments.
"We just want to make people more aware of the conditions that can unexpectedly leave us without loved ones," Andy added.
"Losing mum has left us with a void that will never be filled, she was taken far too early."
