Watch an RMtv Special for the full details of our agreement with CWU

Post by POSTMAN »

The full details of our agreement with the CWU are revealed in a must-watch RMtv Special, available now.

Interim CEO Stuart Simpson and chief operating officer Achim Dünnwald describe the details of the agreement and what it means for our transformation plans.

‘This agreement gives us a clear pathway to change that will bring major benefits to customers, employees and the company,’ says Stuart.

‘Both parties recognise this will require new ways of working, a more flexible business, greater use of technology and the insight of our tremendous workforce.’

We have agreed to move forward with revisions in all operational areas.

‘We haven’t made the changes we have needed for the better part of the last two years,’ reflects Achim. ‘Now we have a comprehensive programme to do so.’

I find this video highly disturbing tbh, it sounds as though the revisions/changes are coming in immediately. Are the members even allowed a vote to ratify the agreement!?!

What happens if they vote no (unlikely) and the changes have been made, im guessing nothing we will be stuck with it.

Amazes me how fast they get a video done and it took them how long to get some sort of agreement.

When they say 'pay rise for this year'.... does that mean we'd all get a top up of 2.7% of our annual earnings from 2020 in one go?

So say someone made £20k in 2020 then they will be getting £540 added to one of their salary payments sometime soon?

It's backdated to April 2020 if accepted

This clock in and clock out thing. What is the reasoning for them bringing it in?

I like the idea. I am surprised they have bought it in because I would assume that now if we come back after our time we will get paid for our time as it will all be registered on the system and linked to overtime pay?

A lot of the time I don't get paid overtime I sign for or I don't bother claiming anything if it's just 10 or 15 minutes that I've gone over. If I will now automatically get paid for every minute I go over my time - then great. Won't have to rush around now either as I won't have the fear of going over my time and not getting paid properly.

If the company wants to save money then why would the clocking in and out system ignore verbally agreed overtime? So its ok to ghost hours?

You’ve been shafted. You should get paid for every minute.

Swings and roundabouts.

Sometimes I finish 15 minutes early, sometimes I finish 15 minutes late. If they are allowing us to go home early why should I claim 10 or 15 minutes when I am late back. I get to go home early way more than I go home late.

If they made me work every minute of my time then it would be a different story and I would claim for 10 minutes+ every time.

This is why I am interested in what this clocking in and clocking out system actually means. Will it now mean we have to stay until our finish times if we come back early, will it now mean we get paid every minute we go over with it automatically being registered.

The clocking in system will be used at an office level to measure actual hours worked against core hours.
It's a very dangerous step.
