HI,
There has been two people tested positive in the office I work in, in the last week the second one being today. We were all told to contact 111 for advice we were all given different answers of what we should do. The two people who tested positive work next to me so I've decided to to self isolate.
Do you know if the antibody test kits are available to royal mail staff? I know the normal test kits are available to public but will only show a positive result if you have symptoms, where as the antibody test kits can detect it early and see if you have previously had it.
Thanks
Dan

I believe you can only get an antibody test if you work in ‘paid adult social care’.
Only people with symptoms can apply for a NHS test for C-19, even if you have had ‘close contact with someone who has C-19’. My partner had symptoms, I had to self-isolate whilst we waited for test result, which was negative. If you feel that you had close enough contact with someone who has the virus you need to self-isolate for 14 days. Should you develop symptoms during this time you have to then isolate for 10 days from when the symptoms started.

Even if a test shows you have antibodies no one knows what immunity that may offer or for how long. You only have to isolate if you have symptoms, tested positive, live with someone/support bubble with symptoms or have tested positive, the app or test and trace contact you to tell you to isolate. Testing as already confirmed is only available on the nhs if you develop symptoms. If you isolate because of being in close contact that 14 days has to be completed in full even if you test negative as incubation can take upto 14 days and you may still go on to develop it in that time. I know someone that works on the 119 service so keeps me informed of the latest guidelines lol
